About Me
I DO NOT USE COUCHSURFING AS TINDER!
That being said... Hi everyone else! My name is Anna, and I'm currently volunteering in Kyrgysztan... which means trying to teach German and English to children in an international school in Bishkek. Before coming here I did my Alevels in Germany, so Kyrgyzstan is my first venture into the world really (not true actually, I was an exchange student in Finland for 5 months, when I was 15). I really enjoy taking on challenges like this, though sometimes I tend to go in a little head-first (half the fun).
Its always hard to tell what kind of person you are and I feel like every person I know would say something different. Myself, I would say that I am mostly calm and thoughtful, and outgoing sometimes - I'm trying to balance it well. Its also quite hard to get into a fight with me and I always try to treat people respectfully and with an open mind, which is one of the most important values to me.
Reading and writing are two of the things I enjoy most in life, close up are listening to and playing music (I love concerts and have played guitar for 8 years) and being out in nature and exploring. I have been a member of Amnesty International for three years now, and politics and global issues are something that I care about a lot.
To conclude enjoy these two random facts about me: I think I would be a moose if I was an animal and I liked the idea of becoming a long distance truck driver when I was younger. Feel like knowing me yet?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Is 'to meet new people' too cliché of an answer?
I all honesty: I'm starting to do more travel trips by myself, and really it's just so much more fun when you've got some friendly people you can hang out with and get to know a place through them.
The more people I'm meeting the more I'm realizing that everybody has something to share and what a nice feeling it is to get into a good conversation someone you barely know, and coming out of it with a new perspective. I guess, that's the longwinded way of saying 'to meet new people', really I'm just looking forward to having coffee or beer or wine or even water with you, and get to know you.

Music, Movies, and Books
So for music, the Beatles are one of the bands that have inspired me most in my life, but there's also plenty of others that I absolutely love, and I'm always looking for new stuff too
When it comes to books my favourite is probably always the one I'm reading at the time, but Kafka is an author I really like and Rosa Liksom - Compartment no. 6 is a book that really impressed me.
I don't watch that many films, to be honest... I like to see indy stuff sometimes and I enjoy movies that are set in the 40s, 50s or 60s (make it about a political issue and you got me). Introduce me to some good films ;)
