Overview
About Me
I am Annalisa an emotional, generous, empathic person and a source of motivation for others. Like the place where I live, Puglia, a region of southern Italy, I am a sunny person. I love everything that is beautiful and harmonious, and for this reason, in life I chose to practice the profession of architect but a couple of years ago I also started working as an art history teacher. Life has put me to the test with more or less painful losses, but precisely for this reason I believe that the psychic balance, serenity, joy of each of us must be put first but without selfishness. I am an essential and authentic person who believes a lot in honesty and loyalty. One of the most peculiar traits of my personality is curiosity for everything that is new and different and for this reason I love to travel, to know new cultures and new friends, to contaminate my being with that of other beings on this beautiful planet earth, so I hope to meet you soon.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel and I usually do it in groups of friends and not, especially Italians like me. But lately I have the desire to travel alone both to test myself and overcome limits and fears and to know the places I visit through the perspective of the locals, experience the world from their point of view and why not have new friends scattered around the world. I would like to get more enrichment from the trip and I think couchsurfing can be excellent for all this. Furthermore, I would like to give the favors I receive by sharing what I have and what I can give.
Interests
I love immersing myself in nature to find my inner balance when I happen to lose it by taking long walks, meditating, listening to sounds and perceiving smells. I believe in the environmental cause, in the self-determination of peoples, in respect for minorities and women's rights. I love photography, especially portrait photography, with which I try to give a personal interpretation of the world and the people I meet on my way. I would be very honored to be able to make you a portrait. Professional photographers say that the best photographic portraits are those in which an emotional connection between photographer and subject has been established. But I am not only a soul and a mind, I also have a practical sense that allows me to do manual jobs, cook, create small objects of art, take care of animals and plants.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling a lot I happened to have several incredible experiences, sometimes quite dangerous. I crossed the border between Guatemala and Honduras at night and on foot, barred by barricades and people armed with pistols and machetes. This was due to a popular uprising that was taking place in Guatemala where the judges accused some politicians of setting up a customs bribery ring
(Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_L%C3%ADnea_corruption_case). In any case, luckily I'm here to write about it and despite appearances I consider myself a responsible traveler. Other incredible but fun things I have done are: walking for miles on the Great Wall of China with its incredible slopes, sailing in the Sumidero Canyon (Mexico) with a storm in progress, climbing the highest peak between the Jordanian and the Saudi limits in the sun in August, getting lost in the jungle of Guatemala, sleeping under the starry sky in the desert of Shara and Wadi Rum, having managed to survive several nights on Indian trains, sleep in a yurt in the middle of the kyzylkum desert in Uzbekistan, etc.

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm really interested in learning English and other languages basically I'm just excited to meet new people and learn a lot about different places and cultures. I can teach people some photography skills, teach some basic software skills like photoshop and lightroom to "process" their digital negatives in a professional way and get the best out of their photos, I can offer more or less professional advice and suggestions on furniture and construction thanks to my knowledge as an architect, I can teach you some interesting things about the history of Italian and European art, I can teach you how to cook some delicacies of Italian cuisine and more. When I am free from work I can share my free time with you, showing the most interesting places in my city, I can share with you the company of my friends, a tiring trek and my car.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can certainly offer you listening, collaboration at home, an Italian dinner prepared with my own hands, a good glass of wine, wide smiles and good vibes.
