About Me
"My dear, find what you love and let it kill you."
- Charles Bukowski
++ I like pineapple slices on my pizza, and yes, I am aware it's a divisive issue. I also enjoy discussing politics, and, occasionally, a good game of chess. People who believe in horoscopes, conspiracy theories and Tom Cruise generally annoy me. ++
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have travelled some places and been hosted by wonderful people from Istanbul to Paris to Guatemala City. I have met amazing/funny/crazy/kind/adorably annoying/geeky/ freeky/nerdy travellers in Budapest and showed them around in my city, being their guide in the lively ruin-pub scene of Budapest. Some people I met through CS are now my closest friends, we can always rely on each other, no matter how far away the other one is.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted surfers in Budapest and Utrecht. Have been hosted by wonderful people all over the world.
Interests
Creative writing, literature, art, contemporary art, music, gastronomy, discussing politics, philosophy, or anything else :)
I'm crazy for documentaries... well, I want to be the person making them, one day... I have ideas in my head, it will take long before they are realized, but they are there... sometimes I watch my life as if it was a film too, and the stories I encounter and the characters I meet, sometimes are so cinematic they're better than the best films I've seen...

Music, Movies, and Books
too many...
just to name a few: Marquez, Hrabal, Capote, Stendhal, Esterhazy, Kafka, Gogol, Bulgakov, Gorky, Eric Berne, Mordechai Richler, Kundera, Khaled Hosseini...
music: everything, mostly things that fall under the genre of "world music", although I find this category very controversial. Cesaria Evora, Totó la Momposina, Ojos de Brujo, Kalyi Jag, Parno Graszt, Flamenco, Fado, Rumba Gitana... and then some singer-songwriters... Asa, Tracy Chapman, Suzanne Vega, Ayo, José Gonzalez, Alexi Murdoch, Zaz, Ryan Bingham, Tom Odell, Fink... and french chansons, and jazz, and big band, and alternative hip hop, and some stuff from Ninja Tune usually... and old school French rap, and old school rap... pretty much open to everything.
Movies: way too many favourites to list... I can send you a list of 100 titles if you really want to know:)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I found somebody's dad who he has never known in a far away country with the help of the CouchSurfing community, (Thank you Anita Kassem Kashmiri for all your help and support!!) It was a very touching experience for everyone involved. Witnessing the first phone call between father and son was one of the most emotional moments of my life.
Apart from this, I am still yet to do amazing things.
Update: I just did something amazing again! I returned a lost homing pigeon (after it was hanging around on my balcony and trying to come in to my house for 3 days) to its owner by bicycle. Thus the weirdest thing I've ever transported by bike is now homing pigeon in huge carton box, holding the box in one hand, balancing the bike with the other, and trying to ride as gently as possible, constantly assuring the poor thing that we're almost there... :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach: cooking good and tasty and vegan, making macramé jewelry, stuff about art theory and postmodern philosophy
I want to learn: photography, basics of filmmaking, turning an idea into script, basics of editing
