CURRENT MISSION

I am currently (since nov 2014) in Cajamarca, Peru. I am volunteering for an NGO which deals with the rural population of the Peruvian Andes. My mission right now is to fully enjoy this experience and get to know a bit more of this wonderfull people and land.

ABOUT ME

Hei! My name is Anna. Originally from a city in the mountains (Pyrenees) close to Barcelona, in Spain. A land and people that I love with all my soul, and that I love to visit and come back from time to time. From here it comes my love to nature, small villages/towns and simple living. Nevertheless, life brought me to also discover life in the cities and the many things you can do, learn and share over there. There is something in me that will never let me decide between living in cities or in villages, between living in Spain or aborad, between a quite life and a busy one... I simply like everything. With this I don't wanna sound as a "I am always happy" girl. Everything has its bad points too, and its important to see them too. So In my life I tend to have cycles of new experiences and whenever I get too used to a place, I wanna change.
A bit more about me...I am a sociable person who loves to travel (although not really long trips) and be in touch with people and nature. Sorry it is not very original, but I guess all couchsurfers have something in common. I used to be monitor in summer camps with teenagers, and I love to feel that I am part fo something. Although that I also enjoy a lot the time by myself. I would also say that I am a person who enjoys simple life, although, as everyone, I tend to complicate it as much as I can. I also love everything about sustainabilty and environmental stuff, so I can be a bit freak sometimes, although I try not to be. I like to learn things from all kinds of people, and I think I am quite adaptable.

PHILOSOPHY

During a period of my life I was very worried about getting the right track for my life. Then, a boss of mine told me this:
"Imagine that you are sufring on the sea and you wanna arrive to a particular rock in a beach. You are probably gonna fall into the water because you would be fighting against the waves too much. Imagine now that instead of that particular rock you just aim a particular beach. Even though you still have to fight a bit the waves, you will probably get there."
So I guess that now I just know a bit the kind of beach that I wanna land, but not really the rock.
