About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm outgoing, laughy, lively... At work, I'm a documentary filmmaker - I love meeting and hanging out with new people, listening to new stories. I'm pretty independent, and love hunting out new experiences but I'm attached to all those old friends, family and favourite places. I live a busy life in London, where I share a flat with my good friend - I work quite hard at times, so I try to have a month or two off in between projects for wandering, staring, sleeping, laughing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been a surfer.... and am really looking forward to hosting in the Autumn when I'm back in London.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had two amazingly brilliant couchsurfing experiences when I was visiting California this summer. Sounds incredibly cheesy but it was the ultimate life-affirming thing to be part of.
Interests
My work is a big interest - mainly it involves speaking to people, and getting to know what the world looks like from their perspective. I get a buzz when every now and then you know you've captured genuine human experience. For me, good books, films, theatre and art are about saying something true about life. I meet up with friends a lot; lots of eating, and drinking, and talking. Away from the city, I love to get out to the sea, or the hills - somewhere where there aren't many other people - I love country pubs, and walking boots, and maps - all the things I completely hated as a kid. And I've done quite a few longer trips to Egypt, Ecuador, Brazil, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and all over Europe. When I'm abroad I like staying in one place for a while and getting to know it. Otherwise cycling round London backstreets on sunny days, scruffy dogs, campfires, train journeys, mismatched crockery, dancing like a loon, radio 4, and wasted afternoons are all good with me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been filming a lot of births this year for a documentary - that's been a pretty special thing to be part of. There's nothing like seeing a two minute old baby unfurling, or seeing parents experience an overwhelming new love.
I was blown away by being in the rainforest. I could not believe somewhere that lush existed. It was like walking into some never never land. I had a similar feeling in the middle of the Sahara Desert - just being somewhere that huge, and unchanging. Both places made human angst seem pretty insignificant.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can film and edit, I can cook spaghetti carbonara. I seem to know a lot about kids' books.
I'd like to get more into music. I need some new inspiration.
