Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in Austin, Texas- a city that I absolutely love.
I love to laugh, especially at myself.
I enjoy getting into a hot car after a cold swim.
I love seeing people come alive inside.
And I think we should make more balloons and much less war.
PHILOSOPHY
"You are rewarded not according to your work or your time but according to the measure of your love." St. Catherine of Sienna.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
“Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” – Miriam Beard
Also- my roommates and I are road-tripping through the Grand Canyon, Zion and Moab. They booked AirBnb's awhile ago and then I jumped on the road trip! Their Air Bnb's are booked, so I'm looking for other places to crash. <3.
Interests
A few years ago, while watching an Arrested Development marathon, I had the brilliant idea of opening up my own frozen banana stand. Countless sleepless nights and banana experiments later, I opened Bananarchy in the summer of 2009. I kept money in the banana stand for seven years, recently sold it and have returned to school to research communication and product development. My long term goals are to launch a couple more businesses, empower others to come alive and create a culture of sustainable entrepreneurship.
I also try to spend as much time as possible crashing into things on my mountain bike, falling off walls whilst rock climbing, cliff-jumping, writing and finding sunsets.

Falling Upward by Richard Rohr.
Harry Potter.
Music most listened to:
I listen to a ton of NPR and podcasts. The Liturgist Podcast and Ted Talk Radio hour are my favorite.
The National + Sufjan Stevens + Total Eclipse of the Heart on repeat.
I've also been known to run to Kesha and Smiley, and I'm not even ashamed of it.
Movies:
Twister.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've had so many moments where I've just been awestruck at life, it's hard to just pick a couple.
lived with gypsies in Romania
seen the crippled walk
hiked Angkor Wat
sang and danced with the Maasai tribe
lived at an orphanage in the Philippines
opened up a frozen banana stand
floated in the dead sea
