About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Current life mission: to find my life mission.
ABOUT ME
It depends on my mood, but sometimes I can be kinda crazy and eccentric and silly, and other times, I can be reserved/pensive. But I'm always looking for fun times and to meet new people that can give me new insights to this crazy world we live in!
PHILOSOPHY
Many of the world's problems stem from the fact that they can't handle/accept difference (genocide, terrorism, class bullies, religious conflicts, racisim, anti-immigration policies). Thus we would all be better off if we learned to LOVE and appreciate and learn from everyone's differences. It's so cliche, but it's so true, and still worth saying, because it's sometimes hard to love everyone. and often easy to forget.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am currently living in Chicago. From now until mid November, I have a spare room for 2-4 couchsurfers. The room has a bathroom and a queen sized bed.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When I studied abroad in college in Switzerland, I hosted once and surfed a handful of times when I traveled around Europe. They were all amazing experiences, and my hosts were incredibly generous and now that I have a proper place to host people, I'd like to pay it forward.
Interests
i love puzzles - they can engage me for hours - it's one of the reasons why I am studying computer science. I also spend my time learning languages (programming ones included!), biking, running, rock climbing, cooking, reading (random crap on the internet), playing rugby, DANCE PARTIES.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies
Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, Being John Malokovich, Life is Beautiful
Music
I'm always looking for new music of any genre! I love 70s Funk, conscious hiphop/rap (Talib Kweli, Atmosphere, Eminem, Immortal Technique, Blue Scholars), female R&B singers/divas (Lauryn Hill, Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, India.Arie ), some electronica (namely Crystal Castles, but I'd like to find more), Audioslave, Foo Fighters, and the more mainstream indie rock bands, like Wilco, MGMT, the Shins, Death Cab for Cutie. That's just a taste...
BOOKS
are harder for me because I read them once, then forget about them, and hence forget if i liked it or not.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Stars. Seeing the stars on a clear night always leaves me a litte...starstruck. One of my more memorable star gazing experiences was while snowshoe hiking in the Alps. It was so serene and so cool to have such a panoramic view of the stars surrounded by black outlines of the mountains and white snow glittering like diamonds from the light of the torches. At the end of the hike, we watched the moon peek out from behind the mountain peak, and rise into the sky and illuminate the white expanse and cast our shadows across the whole valley.
Mountains also leave me awestruck. Maybe it's because I'm not still not used to such natural beauties, having grown up in an urban area, which is flat as a pancake.
Teach, Learn, Share
What I can teach/share : help with building a website, my favorite places(restaurants, museums, parks) around Philadelphia, Korean language and culture, really delicious recipes (to name a few...pecan pie, fried oreos, spinach pie, gim bap(korean sushi), the best way to eat seaweed the korean way )
What I'd like to learn: urban agriculture (e.g. raising chickens, vermiculture, gardens), new languages, new music, new food
