ABOUT ME
NOTE: if you don't have time to read my profile, don't bother ask me to stay at my place :)
****************************************************************************************
I'm a quiet and tidy person, I love meeting people from other countries, travelling, going to gigs, I'm a foodie and a cat lover!
I have a funny way of cooking but I like cooking and no-one got food-poisoned so far :P
I also love languages and learning what is similar between different languages!
I like meditation, hiking to explore natural landscapes, but I struggle to find travelling companions so I stick to visiting cities and towns.
PHILOSOPHY
Love replaces fear. This sentence actually comes from the lyrics of "The weight of the world" by Editors, but as I started thinking about it this is what I wrote myself:
The love for a person replaces the fear of telling that person that you love him or her because you’re afraid that person wouldn’t feel the same.
The love for new experiences and discoveries replaces the fear of getting out of your comfort zone.
The love for travelling replaces the fear of the unknown.
The love for what you want to do in your life replaces the fear of failing at the challenges you need to face in order to achieve your goal.
The love for a peaceful life replaces the fear of talking directly to people when something is wrong.
The love you feel from the people around you, from family and old time friends to total strangers, replaces the fear of being alone and lonely.
The love for life replaces the fear of not making it, of not belonging anywhere.
The love for expressing how you feel to the people who matter to you replaces the fear of looking too vulnerable.
The love for live music and for your favourite band replaces the fear of going to a concert on your own. [For example, when I went to see Editors themselves in Prague in 2018 :3]
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I try to use Couchsurfing not only to find hosts while I travel, but also to meet people and make new friends in the area where I live or in the places that I visit even though they're not my hosts. I try to spread the CS word as much as possible around my friends and relatives too :D
I am doing my best to host travellers at my place in Prague :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first experience as a couchsurfer was in Hamburg in August 2013, it was great and my host was very welcoming :)
I showed Verona to a French/Canadian traveller in summer 2013 and I hosted two Czech girls in my hometown
I did couchsurfing in Australia in 2015-16 and I also used CS to meet people in Melbourne and share trips. In Europe I used CS in Spain and now that I am in Prague I have finally started hosting couchsurfers :)
Interests
travelling, food, foreign languages, Scandinavian culture, live music, volleyball, swimming, cycling, parks, natural landscapes
Music, Movies, and Books
We can talk about it for a few hours :) (or days)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've stopped being afraid of spiders and insects! To me it's a very big achievement [...unless we talk about Australian spiders, in that case hell no]
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Italian to anyone interested, I can teach some good Italian recipes including local dishes from Verona (hello risotto!)
I can definitely share my love for music! and I'm a wannabe drummer
I can also share my love for languages in general apart from teaching Italian, I'm just curious about languages and what they sound like!
I have been practicing yoga and meditation, so happy to share knowledge about that too!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would be definitely happy to cook meals for you (I don't really cook dishes with meat or fish anymore, so I might cook vegetarian/vegan food most of the time)
I'm also really happy to help with anything in the house like cleaning etc. :)
