Overview
About Me
I was born and grew up in Germany with an American dad and was raised bilingual (German /English). I love the great outdoors and am continuously inspired by the natural world. I got many interests and tend to spread myself too thin🤣
I own my own business as a Massage Therapist with emphasis on medical treatments.
I recently became a Certified Permaculture Designer, and working on a Bachelor's in Cultural Anthropology part-time. I'm very passionate about sustainability as well as creating functional beauty in landscapes. I love gardening. I appreciate meeting new people and having great conversations that inspire, motivate and boggle the mind. I value learning new things.
I enjoy being creative and having everything in my life be a form of art. Occasionally, whenever time permits it, I'll make and sell commissioned art: https://www.instagram.com/wildhartart/

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
To share the passion of traveling and expand my worldviews as well as to make new friends. To meet authentic locals and get the real deal vibe of each place I travel to as well as being able to offer it in return when I can.
I hosted many people when I lived on Maui, Hawaii.
After traveling for quite a while I found a place to settle down with my husband and our two dogs (Ash and Oden), in North Idaho. We started a small urban homestead a couple of years ago and hosted a couple of times. However, we sold our house and moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee to be closer to Friends and Family. While out and about we would love to meet fellow travelers and locals alike!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I made valuable connections and memories with people through this great community! Looking forward to many more!
Thank you, CS!!!
Interests
Recently been doing a lot of looking into building an alternative earth-home (strawbale, cob, rammed earth, log, etc.), as it is a dream of mine that has yet to come true! If you know anything about this sort of building, I'm all ear!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Anything that makes me feel good really: Folk, Bluegrass, Celtic, Dubstep, Rock...Depending on my mood and the time of day I suppose!
Movies: I don't watch movies often but when I do, I generally like positive endings and quality movies that offer new perspectives on life or fantasy/sci-fi.
Books: I just read "Braiding Sweetgrass" by Robin Wall Kimmerer for the 3rd time and it never gets old! I love her gentle wisdom!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One thing? I can't decide...here are a few amazing things I've done and experienced:
I went scuba diving with reef sharks and manta rays on Maui. Stood 6ft from a juvenile Grizzly in Alaska. Saw amazing Icebergs from the airplane window with a sunrise and crystal clear stars in the universe, for some reason it's an image I can't forget! Hiked into the ice caves on Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, AK. Stood by the edge of a cliff at the Grand Canyon of Yellow Stone Park. Woke up to a wild Buffalo right next to my tent. Drove my car from Alaska to California to Michigan while living out of my car for nearly 8 months, and loved it. Stood amidst wild thunder and lightning on a mountaintop. Enjoyed the outlook on the valley from a glacier in Austria on a clear and sunny day. Got lost in the Vatican. Experienced the remains of Auschwitz which still gives me sad goosebumps when thinking about it. Witnessed a drunk Oprah singer, singing amazingly in mid day on the street of Paia (Maui). Slept in a park house in Manhattan, NY because I had no money for a hotel! Gangs were banging against metal bars waking me up down the hall at 3am...Thankfully they never noticed me!
I once slipped down a 300 ft rock cliff face and was about to die had I not been able to hold onto a small tree in the last minute. Fought wildfires for a summer season.
Hiking through Haleakala Crater in Hawaii twice. The second time I ran into an old Hawaiian dude threatening me with a shotgun cuz I accidentally trespassed onto his property; it was dark and I lost the trail... but I survived that one too! lol
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a big-time crafter and love making beautiful things to share. I also love forest walks and playing in nature with friends and am always down for a communal adventure. I am always open to learning new things, so please share what you're passionate about! What I'm currently most interested in is eco-building and Permaculture, so lmk if you share this interest! Would love to eventually hone in on my Spanish skills as I never learned to speak it fluently.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Art, stories, laughter, food, and good company! I'm also great at cleaning and organizing and actually love doing so!
