ABOUT ME

Traveling and meeting new people is at the top of my favorite things to do list. I enjoy being outdoors in natural environments and live in a beautiful area full of outdoor sights and activities. I love to travel to cities and experience that variety knowing I can come back to the place I call home. In cities I enjoy museums, mostly art, music, dance and theatre.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

New to this but heard about it a few years ago from a man who was German, traveling in Ireland. Decided it was time to give it a try.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted several times and all have been good experiences with lots of good exchanges.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My favorite trips have been- Highway One in California, Canyon DeChelly, Durham Cathedral (singing there)in England, and riding a bike as well as performing in a play in Ireland. And my favorite hike up a mountain (Grandfather) is less than 10 miles from my house.

Teach, Learn, Share

I currently run a program for young adults with intellectual disabilities at a university. I am also a theatre artist and I most enjoy directing and designing puppets. I am also passionate about social issues and environmental justice. I like thinking about and creating art that pushes boundaries and makes people think which led me to spend a summer at Bread and Puppet Theatre in Vermont. I like to cook, and I am good at networking. I can usually find less than 6 degrees of separation between someones idea or interest and someone I can connect them to.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have lived in the area most of my life so I know the places to go, including those off the beaten track. I have a friendly cat who may be shy at first but enjoys company.
