Hey! My name is Anna and I am currently having my gap year after school and getting ready for some applying exams in university. I'm a pretty energetic and spirited person, never sit in one place :) The best evening for me is a good walk on the streets of a new city with a cup of coffee with milk :^)

I love to explore new places even in my hometown. Sometimes I just spontaneously take a suburban train to The Gulf of Finland (grateful, that I live near), walk there on an empty evening beach and pine forest. It makes my mind clear and calm.

To be honest, I always thought that I can't physically live and hang out alone and I always would be in need of company. I've perennially been sole of a company and always got involved in some events. But time showed me, those small moments of peace and silence are very important for me as a big party or noisy crowd of friends as well. I really appreciate good conversation or walk with an interesting person, but I'll be okay alone too because I also do appreciate people's personal space and time.

But on the other hand, I can laugh with you until my eyes start to water and stomachache. Dance to some pop-music and paint some weird sketches.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to know many languages and talk to native speakers all over the world (but I'm applying for international management haha), so Couchsurfing is a good opportunity to find cool people and new friends!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went with my best friend on a night cycling in the city centre and managed to stay alive :^)

One time in my childhood I built a big snow fortress all by myself and I still remember it with tears in my eyes and pride in my heart.

I and my good friend had a huge snow fight at night and when we got tired, we just laid on our backs and watched the dark sky full of stars and snowflakes.

I was a "FIFA World Cup Russia 2018" Volunteer and spent the whole month, helping foreign to navigate in my hometown Saint-Petersburg and met plenty of new friends! That was so much fun!

I pretty often read here (on Couchsurfing) some incredible stories of meeting new people and getting involved in some crazy trips, and that makes me kinda jealous because it shows me how people are living the life I always wanted to live, while I'm only beginning my life journey and just don't have that experience yet.

We have one phrase in Russian language: "Кто не рискует, тот не пьёт шампанского". It translates like "Who does not risk that does not drink champagne". You need to risk something, to gain something. Well, I'm trying my best to think more open and don't be scared of all this adult life stuff and difficulties on my way.

I hope in time and with new people, which I'll meet on CouchSurfing, this space will be filled with some crazy breathtaking stories with my new friends (and I'll remember them in my old age (hah, no, I'm still gonna travel in my old age)).
