About Me

I'm a translator working in the banking sector, married to an awesome guy and sharing my home with a cute dog and a stubborn cat.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

You can never understand a place unless you meet locals. I'm curious about ordinary things: how people live, what their everyday life looks like, how many pieces of IKEA furniture they have at home. It's amazing there are so many people on Couchsurfing willing to share this.

Interests

Knitting, sewing, watching TV crime series, photography. If you have local knowledge of fabric and yarn shops, please share it with me!

Music, Movies, and Books

U2, Patti Smith, the Doors. Pretty uninspiring, uh? But wait: My first trip to Paris was because of... Jim Morrison. When I'm in the City of Lights, I always remember to buy a bouquet for Jim's grave. And - why do you think I flew to Ireland (my first flight, by the way)? Yes, to see the places Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry grew up at. I even managed to see the original Windmill Lane Studios and other places long gone now. My second trip to Dublin was for a U2 concert at the Point - a dream come true for every U2 fan. Seeing Patti Smith at the Olympia in Paris was unforgettable. So were her performances in Berlin and Prague. Who'd say music can be such a tremendous inspiration for travelling?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've finally learned (the hard way) to travel with carry-on luggage only.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bring a bit of the Czech Republic to your home. If you are curious about Czechs, the Czech Republic and its culture and traditions - I'm here to tell you. Are you interested in tasting Czech sweets? No problem, there will be a surprise package for you in my suitcase. If you are a knitter or a sewist, we can discuss our projects (I'm sure there will be at least one hand-made item in my bag).

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Macedonia, Netherlands, Poland, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State
