I would say that I am pretty easy going and sociable and always seem to be smiling.
I am currently on a gap year backpacking through Europe, before going to university next year.
I love learning about different cultures and experiencing new ways of life. While at high school I hosted several international students from Japan, Vietnam, New Caledonia and France.
Now I am finally embarking on my own journey and am hoping to meet locals and gain a broader outlook on life, while becoming more adaptable and open to other ways of thinking.
I believe we are all lifelong learners, and what better way than to learn from each other!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Currently on a gap year backpacking through Europe :)) Thought this would be a unique and cost effective way to travel, while meeting new people and experiencing a more authentic travel experience! Keen to hear your recommendations and travel stories :)

Interests

I love exploring new places and seeing the different architecture of houses and buildings (I come from Australia so we have literally no ‘old’ buildings or anything in comparison to Europe.)
Tasting different foods and drinks from around the world is also just the best!
And talking with people is so fascinating to hear their stories (as well as their accents!)

My favourite thing I do each year is working at the Australian Open- come January 2020 it will be my seventh year there! I started as a ballkid (yes we had to wear those silly looking caps) and now I am in Court Services. If you are interested in tennis I will be happy to tell you some stories about my time working there!

I also love summer and going to the beach; I was very fortunate to grow up in a family where we were taught how to sail. I’ve always imagined that if I were a famous sportsperson then I would love to be in a sport that follows the sun- either sailing or surfing. Although I have been skiing a couple of times and absolutely love it! In a couple years’ time I would love to do a ski season, perhaps in Canada.
