About Me
CURRENT MISSION

*** Experience more of the world by bike in order to meet great people, see amazing landscapes, experience different cultures and try tasty foods...! ***
I am very excited by what the world has to offer so really hope to explore many more places & countries.
I have a reputation for talking to everybody whatever their supposed 'status', background or views. I end up having conversations with people everywhere - on the street, on the London Underground during commuter time (notoriously unsocial!) , with the cleaners after work (I have learnt lots about Ghanaian traditions from my new friends!!) I love meeting new people and learning about their life experiences.
I feel we ought to appreciate life and try to make the most of it (as it is pretty remarkable that we even exist!). I think it is important to be kind to other people (unless they litter - in which case they deserve shouting at!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As soon as I stumbled across this website my tummy literally flipped. It facilitates amazing travel experiences that couldn't be achieved by staying in a hotel room! I really hope to do more surfing in the near future and to be ABLE TO HOST at some point in the near future!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Every Surfing experience has been positive (and some have certainly enhanced my life!). My days/nights Couchsurfing have been some of the best memories from a trip. I surfed when hiking in Wales, Cycling in Slovevia, Italy and France & exploring Bolivia!
I've hosted via couchsurfing (but indirectly). My fantastic hosts in the French Alps had a friend coming to London for several months. My previous housemates and I looked after her for the first three weeks. It was great fun getting by with our basic French & her limited English - and realising how odd English is while trying to explain words/phrases. We shared the smallest room in the world but had a great time!
Interests
I love skiing, cycling, MOUNTAINS, swimming (in pools/lakes/ wherever there is colourful underwater life!), cooking on/sitting around a fire. I generally enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy rock climbing but am not very experienced.
I played Handball (badly) for my uni (Imperial college London) which allowed me to meet so many cool people from all different countries (as Handball is virtually unknown in the UK)
I have dabbled in Triathlons/ Duathlons ... thoroughly enjoyed the experience (apart from pre-start of the one in January where I turned to ice before setting off).
I Love to travel... The people, food, scenery, opportunities to try new things, learn and to create fun memories :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I like most music (excluding 'heavy' metal/rock type songs) but rarely know who it is by/what it is called/what genre it falls into!
Currently listening to Tribal African type music (new discovery!) but earlier today the TomorrowLand soundtrack, Oh Land (love the synthetic sounds mixed with her harmonious voice)... later perhaps Simon and Garfunkel. I like music you can dance to, music in a foreign languages/ classical music ... all sorts !
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I came across some huge boulders in Tanzania, climbed up with a friend and sat and watched the sunset. The view was amazing and the moment totally spontaneous.
Cycling up the Stelvio Pass in Italy ... My favourite road (that I have experienced) with INCREDIBLE views!
Teach, Learn, Share
I dislike the fact I 'just speak English' and this puts a barrier between me and people I could potentially have a good conversation with. I have great friends from all over the world who, if they had not learnt English, I'd never have met! Therefore I hope to learn a language at some point in my life. Currently studying the very basics of Spanish.
Cooking at weekends with/for other people is fun :)
I enjoy baking all sorts of things and can bake a pretty decent banana loaf!
Countries I’ve Visited
