About Me

ABOUT ME

I'll admit I'm a bit of an introvert, but am always cheerful and love meeting new people. I'm a science geek - always interested in reading and learning about it. It's my thing. My other equally big thing is ART. I really like art and can happily spend hours in a gallery, laser-eyeing a painting from this angle or that, and scribbling down notes that I won't understand, what the heck I was on about, later.

I also like keeping active. I prefer cycling over jogging, and jogging over walking. And if I go to a rave - and I do like to rave - I stay right until the end, and I dance till I can dance no more.

PHILOSOPHY

In this world, I'm looking for beauty and knowledge. Also hijinks and laughter, much laughter. To be honest I've had more than enough sadness, so I'll take laughter wherever I can make it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people and make new friends. Preferably in a way which doesn't involve shouting small talk at each other across a crowded table in a noisy hostel bar. I mean that's fun too, but let's have conversation first.

Interests

Art, painting, science, cycling, learning, festivals, long-distance running, dancing, adventure. Just starting to try a little bouldering and pole dance. There's a long, long road of improvement before I can say I'm any good at them.

Music, Movies, and Books

I was the quiet kid in the library picking up the hefty fantasy books every week. Those days are gone, but ASOIAF remains.

Aliens was my favourite film when I was a teenager and I think it's still on the top 5. This may say a lot about me still.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went to Chinese martial art school in Dengfeng, where I was crap at kung fu, but I liked it. The kung fu, not being crap.

I also went to Nowhere festival. It was incredible and I'm so happy to be part of the Burn community. I hope CS will prove similar.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a fair amount about biology and I can draw pretty well. Sssso. Life History drawing?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good humour and irreverency.
