ABOUT ME

I am a graduated geographer and was freelancer in city planning and city reconstruction. In 2004, I started as a city and travel guide in Dresden and Saxon Switzerland. In 2009, I added husky hiking and running tours to my program. Since 2010, I did husky sledge tours in Sápmi (Finnish-Lapland) during winters and city tours in Saxony in summer. Now, I permanently live in Suomi, offering sledging, if there is snow and hiking and running during the warm months.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We had some lovely CouchSurfers in the last years, very different people from all over the world with a lot individual "views of the world" and, of course, life experiences, we were talking about.
We host CouchSurfers, because in all my years of travelling, esp. in Southern America but also in Greece and Turkey, I met a lot of friendly, hosting people, and it is nice to give this back.

Interests

My Siberian pack of 60 cute fure noses, ski jöring and sledge driving with them, running (multiple day) ultras with them or just for myself, fotography and travelling, our old timber-frame farm house

Books: I am still in search for this children book about two siblings in Sápmi, taking place probably in the 19th century, cause they were still moving around with their reindeers...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- real winters in Sápmi with Aurora borealis, wilderness, and silence
- living in the countryside, esp. in real wilderness
- running from Aachen to Trier in seven day stages through beautiful mountain scenery, fields, lawns, and forest with overnights at hostel, castle, bio farm, and mental education center
- travelling throughout Argentina and Chile on my own, unluckily only for six weeks

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some experiences from around the world, well, from Europa and the Americas, and from life in different places, with people of different educations and socialisations, with different jobs, and - of course - some cold hours outside watching Aurora borealis, the Northern Lights...
