ABOUT ME

Traveling is my passion. I don't need no expensive stuff for everyday living, I rather save my money to spend it on my journeys. I've already seen a lot of Europe and a bit of Southamerica, but there are still so many places I'd like to see.
When I was younger I wanted to save the planet. It didn't work out, but still I love being in nature ;) I also enjoy city-trips, meeting interesting people, learning and practicing new languages, trying local food...
It's always strange to describe oneself, but I'll try: I think I'm open-minded and always respectful towards other people, cultures, lifestyles... Some people say I'm funny, and honestly: That's one of my favourite hobbies :D I like to tell stories as much as listening to other people. I like to go out sometimes, but having a pleasant evening at home also sounds good to me. Last but not least I'm honest and reliable. What I say, is what I mean. I guess that's very German ;)
It's pretty fascinating to me that for all differences between the people all over the world, in the end we're all the same. If you're friendly and open-minded, you don't need to speak the same language to communicate with another. Use your heart, your arms and legs!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been couchsurfing since 2008, mostly with my friend and travel-buddy Sonja. We've been couchsurfing together in Latvia, Sardinia, Chile and Peru. With another friend I've been couchsurfing in Istanbul. Every single experience was positive. My hosts were always funny, outgoing, talkative people, who hosted me like a good friend. We've had lots of interesting talks, funny music-sessions or crazy short trips into the nightlife.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- being hosted in a country house with a private beach on the beautiful island Sardinia
- hitchhiking to a beautiful oasis with some crazy Chileans in Atacama desert
- seeing a whole (!) rainbow in the forest (!) very close in front of me during a thunderstorm in summer
- surviving the Machu Picchu trip while rain period
