About Me
ABOUT ME
I am new to couch surfing but I have heard only good things! I am a bit spontaneous, but I am cautious, and like to ensure that I am not taking too many risks as I travel as a solo female.
I'm easy-going, sociable but I'm quite happy to go off and do things by myself as long as I have a camera, a good book and something to write on!
I love a good adventure and seeing a city through the eyes of its locals always seems to be the best way and creates the best memories.
I love ancient history, reading historical novels and writing about life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have recently travelled from North America to Europe by cargo ship and I wanted to delay going home by staying with nice people in cities I've not had the pleasure of seeing yet. I'm also looking forward to getting home so I can return the favour and be a good host!
I love the concept of couchsurfing, helping people for the pure enjoyment of the experience with strangers that are of a similar mind set and understand the importance of travelling as much as you can and meeting as many people as you can!
Interests
I read a lot, write a lot and like to get out and about to see something new and take cool pictures. I love history so learning about the history of the places I go is always at the top of my list, as well as trying out the local beer!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of music. My iTunes is probably the most random collection of songs you've ever seen. I enjoy a good movie - Beautiful Mind, Shawshank Redemption, Reservoir Dogs, Devil's Advocate, Brokeback Mountain, Django, and a good chick flick when I'm in the mood, but you'll usually find me with a book or a beer...or both!
I try not to stick with one author when I read, but my absolute favourite book of all time is Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, it's almost 1000 pages long but it's one of those books you don't ever want to finish!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sailed across the Atlantic on a cargo ship with a Ukrainian crew from Canada to Rotterdam and loved every minute of it! So many stories, fantastic memories and I made friends for life.
I also travelled through Tibet last year from China into Nepal and camped over night on Everest Base Camp, it was incredible! I hope to go back someday and revisit the people that were kind enough to make the experience so special.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have travelled, lived and worked in many different places across the world, and I believe that the best thing you get out of travelling is from the people you meet along the way who help you make the memories that last a lifetime. Cheesy, but true!
