Overview
About Me
I am open minded, humorous and interested in other cultures.
Being raised by two art teachers I'm very artsy myself. I just finished one year of precourse at Arts School. Coming September I'll start studying fashion design.
Three years ago I spent an exchange year in New Delhi, India.
I love cooking, baking, music, dancing, books, art and travelling, theatre (acting as well as enjoying).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've made the experience that you learn the most about a country and its culture when you have the possibility to join in the everyday life of locals.
I independently did an exchange year in India. I lived with an Indian family as their (new) family member and went to school with my host siblings. Like this I got to know the Indian way of life and culture, I learned much more than a common tourist is able to see:
A tourist who stays at hotels and travels from monument to monument only gets to see the tip of the culture-iceberg. As I lived like an Indian, I had the chance to get a glimpse of the remaining 90% of the culure-iceberg, too. This ignited my passion for cultures even more! :)
I believe, the key to really get to know a culture is exchange with locals.
And what would be a better way to do so than couchsurfing?!

Music, Movies, and Books
When I'm asked for favorites I never know what to say :)
There are so many things I like (changing from mood to mood, too) and I'm always open for new recommendations.
But let me give you some examples for books, music and movies I like:
Music:
The Beatles (you'll find a song for whatever mood you're in)
Books:
Orlando by Virginia Woolf
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
Films:
Orlando by Sally Potter (she hit the soul of Woolfs book!)
The films of Monsieur Hulot, for example Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn as much as possible about as many cultures as possible.
In exchange I can offer you my knowlege about the Indian culture or I can answer your questions about Switzerland.
I also know a lot about art, if you're interested in that.
...and of course I can show you how to cook or bake.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook an Indian dinner for you.
Or rather something European? :)
