ABOUT ME
I am currently studying at university and trying to extend my degree for as long as possible! I really enjoy it, plus I have many holidays as a student! I am studying law and criminology and am interested in international humanitarian law, human rights and criminal justice. I have also studied Swedish after spending plenty of time in Sweden - it is my home away from home.
PHILOSOPHY
Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm telling everyone (I like) about this!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Before couchsurfing I was a member of SERVAS which is a pre-internet couch surfing type of organisation.More recently, I've just spent two months in Eastern Europe couchsurfing here and there. It was one of the best things I have ever done. The people I met, the stories they told and the experiences we shared were unforgettable!
Interests
There is nothing better than a really good book. I also like to write a little myself. I love music - listening and playing. I play the piano, but not as often as I would like. I am also a keen photographer. I love to bake!
I love being active: snowboarding, rock-climbing, bike-riding and hiking. I spent 11 years doing gymnastics and it continues to be a passion even though I can no longer flip and somersault as I used to!
And of course, my great love interest is my dog "Eno"

Music, Movies, and Books
I could never pick a favourite book, though Harry Potter ranks. I am currently reading three books (aside from my law textbooks):
"Torture Team" by Philippe Sands (examining the use of torture in Iraq and Guantanamo),
"A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole. This is very funny, and
"The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid" by Bill Bryson. I am a big fan of Bill Bryson!
Films - I could never pick my favourite, there are too many! Most recently, I have loved The Visitor and Lemon Tree. On a lighter note, the Goonies is one of the best films ever made.
Music - Dave Matthews Band, Sarah McLachlan, Silverchair, KT Tunstall, Les Miserables, The Cardigans, The Waifs, Tracy Chapman, Foo Fighters, Dixie Chicks, Belle & Sebastian, Coldplay, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Colin Hay, Powderfinger, Kaiser Chiefs, R.E.M., Counting Crows, Kent, Muse, Kings of Leon... the list goes on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Aurora Borealis - the northern lights! Amazing. And bobsledding in Latvia!
