About Me

Hi!

I'm Anna, an American who lived in Australia for 2 years and has travelled to 27 countries and counting. I've spent a lot of time in Europe, Asia, and South America and I love meeting travellers here in San Francisco :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the community. I've stayed with wonderful hosts in New Zealand, Australia, Holland, and Finland! They were all wonderful experiences. I've also attended a lot of Couchsurfing meetups and made friends with fellow surfers and hosts :)

Interests

I love to adventure. I tend to follow my intuition rather than sticking to a detailed itinerary. If there's a choice, I always choose the less travelled road.

My favorite place in the world (with coffee shops being a close second) is a good bookstore. Lately I've been reading a lot of Haruki Murakami, and trying not to slap myself every time I start a new one.

I love to sing, read, write, smile. Love the outdoors: hiking, camping, outdoor yoga, simply walking around a new place. I'm studying Spanish and mathematics in my spare time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Best movie I've seen in the last year: Ex Machina.

Book I'm currently reading: Just finished, "Kafka at the Shore" by Haruki Murakami, and now it's on to "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle" by the same author. I also recently finished a teen novel about a cyborg Cinderella, and yes, it was bad ass.

Music: I love all kinds of music. Check out Bonobo, Tycho and Chance's End if interested. Current faves :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Holding a wombat in Tasmania was pretty fantastic!

Boat ride through a traditional fishing village in Inle Lake, Myanmar.

Parasailing over Boracay Island, Philippines.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Knitting and ESL. I worked at a knitting shop for over three years and I completed the CELTA (Cambridge's TEFL qualification) for teaching English.

Learn: I'm studying Spanish at the moment but I'm open to learning about any other culture.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to cook for you, bring you a present, or anything you like really! I couchsurf because I love the community :)
