ABOUT ME

Am not your average 29 year old. Work hard, travel as much as I can when time and money allows, and dream of changing the world for the better!

Am short, sociable, and spend a lot of time on the road, both for work and for pleasure. I enjoy travelling solo because I find I meet a lot more people that way.

As of 2011, I call myself a self-employed travel writer, meaning that I have a great job but no money! I already do some work updating travel guidebooks for Rough Guides, Lonely Planet and Trailblazer but want to do that full-time: my dream is to make my passion my profession.

PHILOSOPHY

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can't host as much as I'd like to because I'm away from home for weeks at a time, but I've hosted a few people in the past and hope to host more in the future. I also surf when possible and tell fellow travellers about the great concept of Couchsurfing if they're not familiar with it.

I correspond with five Death Row inmates in the US and have visited four of them. Not sure that's particularly amazing, but it's a fairly unusual hobby!

Among the amazing things I've seen...the Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu, Easter Island statues, sunrise frm Borneo's highest mountain, the whole length of Siberia...

I guess that to teach other people, you need to know something first! Since I was old enough to travel solo, that's where all my time and money went, so I can teach you about all the places I've been to, as well as how to visit a maximum security prison in the States!
