I'm Anna, fresh out of school (I'm actually 18, not 20) and trying to figure out my life. I love hearing other people's stories and learning about their view of the world. I cannot host anybody because my Couchsurfing experience starts with me surfing and not hosting but I really hope that I will be able to host when I have my own place. I'm not a clean-maniac but also like to keep everything relatively tidy and un-dirty. If you need a hand with anything I would be happy to help my host - after all you have opened your home to a stranger!

I will be Work and Travelling my way through New Zealand, the country I fell in love with when I was on exchange there (my host family lives in Blenheim), starting October 2015. I have never been a supporter of the commercial way to travel - hotels bore me because in the end, no matter where you are, they're all the same. If I travel I want to experience the culture and people in every way possible and staying with locals is the best way to do that.

My greatest passion is the theatre, I have always loved acting but a few years back realized that I take an even bigger interest in directing, it's a magical experience to turn a few dozen pages of ink on paper into a gripping real story. If it only was a secure and well-paid job, I would go on and study directing but it's not and in this case I hate the ratio. I also love books, I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to that and although I also love trees I do NOT support E-books because I would miss the dusty smell of the paper and the illusion that every page turn opens a door to another world. I occasionally write and when I actually have a story in my head I will not be disturbed by anything. I love short stories! Most powerful and the best for lazy writers ;) I also play the sax but have always been a bigger fan of guitar (which I started teaching myself a year back) and piano (which I can't teach myself because we don't own a piano). Oh, and - obviously - I absolutely love travelling and getting to know new lives (which includes culture, people's stories and different ways of life).

Muzyka, filmy i książki

Books: Too many!!!
I adore Khaled Hosseini's storytelling, Terry Pratchett's creative humour and admire Markus Zusak's way of using words to create images and feelings better than any movie could. I love classics like The Great Gatsby or Hemingway's short stories, great epic fantasy stories like The Lord of the Rings or The Chronicles of Narnia but I also grew up with Harry Potter and he will forever have a special place in my heart. The Millennium trilogy is brilliantly crafted suspense and journalism. Michael Ende is the best children's book author whose books are SO SO relevant even to adults. Cornelia Funke is my favourite German author (especially because of the InkHeart trilogy). And there's thousands more.

Music: I listen to many different genres but my heart belongs to the blues, rock'n'roll and doowop of the 50s and 60s - Elvis, Little Richard, The Marcels, Dion... I am also a record-geek and own an original record player from the 50s (it just sounds so much better!) Modern music would be indie/rock/alternative - Imagine Dragons, Gin Wigmore (go check her out!), The Black Keys...

Movies
Very wide range as well, I love action movies and thrillers but also dramas. As a 50s lover I must include James Dean-movies (^^) but usually "modern" ones like Sherlock Holmes, Iron Man, LOTR, The Hobbit, Harry Potter, Romeo & Juliet (the diCaprio one is SO good), Ocean's 11 etc., Back to the Future, TFIOS, Steven Spielberg films and so on and so on (I have made it my task to watch every big classic btw but there are so many...)
TV show wise: Game of Thrones, Supernatural, White Collar, Doctor Who

Can probably teach you German, would love to cook for you or make you a cake or proper German bread. Listening to other people's stories is my most favourite thing to do so we can share our experiences - that's what Couchsurfing's about, as far as I'm concerned!
