I'm currently on an open ended trip to wherever the wind takes me. I'm Couchsurfing, Workawaying, Hostelling and Hitchhiking my way around and having an amazing time meeting a huge diversity of people and being immersed in all kinds of cultures as deeply as possible.

I'm a very happy, energetic and open person, I'm always smiling and if I'm not smiling I'm probably laughing! (I have a very loud laugh I apologise in advance!) I love to talk and listen and just meet and engage with new people! I talk a lot ;) (it's the Dutch part of me I'm sure..!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because there's so much out there to see and learn and I think the best way to do that is by engaging with other people! I believe everyone has something to learn and everyone has something to teach.

I want to experience as many languages and cultures as possible and I think the best way to do that is through meeting all the wonderful people!

At the moment Im travelling so not hosting guests as I have no permanent residence!

Interests

I have so many interests; I love to move, running, walking, dancing, riding, cycling, climbing, swimming, poi spinning and reading absolutely everything!!

I love a lot of things very much, I love flowers and colours and books and trees. I love the mountains and the sea and lakes and I love nature more than cities. I love people and good food and sharing and creating stories and experiences. I love to sing and dance and listen to music and if you have a flute I'll play it!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books, I love music, I love movies! I love books most. Or maybe music. I really really like books though. By which I mean fiction, a lot of old stuff like Dickens and Austen... Oh and if you know Douglas Adams huge props. I adore Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams and Spike Milligan.

Music and books are the two best forms of escapism I have ever encountered.

Music is often the radio! But I really love getting new music recommendations and hearing what you like! If you play an instrument I would love to hear that too! I'll pretty much listen to any genre from Indie to Psy, Rock, Acoustic, Alt. Rock, Ballads, some EDM and Pop. As a friend once said "I just like GOOD music!". As it transpires I also love some bad music too!

There is nothing in the world more magical than listening to a live orchestra though, it's like stepping through the back of the wardrobe to Narnia, falling down the rabbit hole and stumbling into the Secret Garden all in one. You close your eyes and it's just pure magic.

I will always stop to listen to street music.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love the way peoples faces light up when they talk about their passions! I want to learn as much as the world can teach me; about people, their languages, cultures and customs! I adore getting lost for hours in a new city and I want you to show me all the bits you love most!

I tend to pick of small pieces of general knowledge on a multitude of subjects! Coming from Wales with a farmer/gardener and a counselor/carer as parents I can look after people and a multitude of animals and plants (I can shear a sheep by hand!) I can knit, play flute, guitar and piano, sing (sorry I might sing in the shower, and the kitchen, often the supermarket and occasionally walking down the street) cook, draw, bring plants back from the dead... Occasionally.

I'm a fabulous vegan cook and always up for sharing cooking tips!
