About Me

***READ CAREFULLY PLEASE!***
Hey guys! First of all I want to apologize for all the requests I haven't replied to, but as I had written on my introduction, you have to answer my questions, so I can be sure that you have read carefully my profile.
If I haven't replied, that's the reason!

VERY IMPORTANT THINGS:
-I have 3 cats and one dog at home, so if you're allergic to these animals my home might not be the place you're looking for
-I'm an university student and I can't skip too many classes, so if you're looking for a host that can be with you all the time for a long time.. I am probably not that person. Just tell me for how long you're planning to stay in Genoa and we'll discuss whether I can host you for the whole period or just a part of it!
-When you write to me, please let me know that you have read with attention everything I have written. I want to be sure that you have understood what I expect from you, what you can expect from me, and that you are cool with everything. In order to do that I would like you to reply to 3 questions when you write to me: 1) What's my boyfriend's name? 2)What's the place I want to visit the most? 3)What's my favourite singer? You'll find the answers reading my description! I won't accept your request if you don't answer these questions in your message, so please do that!

Ok, now let's get started.
My name is Annalaura, but just my dad calls me this way. All my friends call me Ska, which is the abbreviation of my surname, or Anna.
I'm 20, I will turn 21 in January. I live in Genoa, a city on the sea in Northern Italy, not too far from Milan, Turin, Florence and other big cities. Genoa is lovely, an old city full of traditions, places to see, stuff to do.. I'll add some photos if our beautiful beaches and mountains, and of the city itself, so you will decide if it is worth visiting! (Also, if you like food, you NEED to come here and eat focaccia and pasta al pesto. Believe me. You have to.)
My house is not in the city centre, but it is next to train, bus and subway station, so you easily can go wherever you want :) I live with my mum, my dad, and my pets: Phoenix, Happy and Zero (my cats) and Kobe the black lab. My dad is a climber and he knows all the mountains around here perfectly, so if you like walking or climbing, he is your guy.
My boyfriend Alberto and I can guide you around the city and show you the museums, the churchs, all the "caruggi" (
very little streets of the historical centre), but also the parks, the beaches and the good pubs :)

We can host 1 or 2 people. We are friendly with anyone, we just need you to be kind and funny! Smoker accepted, but you can smoke only on the balcony :)

If you want to know something more feel free to write to me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that the best possible way to get to know a city is to visit it with someone who actually lives there. I mean, you can obviously buy a good guide and ask for informations, but who can tell you better than a citizen where to buy the best typical food, or drink the best beer? There are corners of the cities you would never get to know unless someone brings you there - and they are often the best of the city.
Moreover, I just love to know new people and talk to them about everything: it's so interesting to share ideas, hobbies, passions.. travelling is not just seeing places, it's living them, and I think Couchsurfing is the only website that actually achieves this goal

Interests

I love:
- music, and concerts.
- reading books
- taking photos
- try typical food of every possible country - I'm vegetarian, so the choice sometimes is limited, but there's always something delicious to try!
- tattoos and piercing
- hair dye
- languages and cultures
- pets. I have 3 cats and a dog, and God knows how much I love them.
- watching film and tv series
-travelling, travelling, travelling. I want to see the whole world, but my one special place is Alaska. I need to go there before I die.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite singer is an Italian rocker, Luciano Ligabue; but I like to listen almost every kind of music, from Yiruma to Eminem, from Bon Jovi to 883 (an Italian band, I adore them!)
I don't have a big culture in movies, and it's something I want to change; so lately I've been buying a new DVD once a week and watching them with my bowl of popcorn. My favorite is The legend of 900, but I've recently discovered many movies I just love, just like Moulin Rouge.
I've been reading since I was a little girl, 'cause my mum works in a library; so it's hard for me to actually say that one book is the one I prefer. I'm a Potterhead, so every and each one of the HP books gave me feelings that not many books succeeded in giving me; but I also loved Looking for Alaska, Norwegian Wood, White Nights, Into the Wild, and so on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to Barcelona with a friend of mine, planning the trip the week before we left, and it was WONDERFUL. Loved the city, the movida, the playas.. everything.

I've passed my final exam in high school with 95/100. Such a great achievement.

I've made 8 tattoos, every one of them with a strong meaning, and I'm so proud of them, but especially of my 7th! It was done by my favourite tattoo artist, Sasha Unisex, and I couldn't believe it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Italian language, culture, and some recipe.

I'd love to learn everything you can tell me about your country, your language and so on: I just want to make my trip a deep experience.

I love to sit on the couch with people and talk about every kind of stuff, so we can talk about concerts, trips, life experiences, taste in books, movies and art.. I'm very open and interested in what you want to share with me!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can guide you through my beautiful city, eat with you our typical recipes, and help you planning your staying; I'm available if you need anything while you stay with me, so feel free to ask me everything!

WHAT I EXPECT FROM YOU:
The only thing we expect is a little help to keep the house clean and tidy while you're here. Moreover, we would like you to cook for us something typical of your country! It would be so nice :)
I have a little wish: I would love if every one of my guests would bring a postcard or a "boule de neige" (you know, the glass ball with a monument and some snow on the inside) with them. It would be lovely to have a memory of all the people I have hosted!
