Hey everyone.

My Name's Anni, I'm 18 years old and from Munich, Germany.
After finishing my A-levels in June last year I spent some months volunteering in Cape Town, South Africa.
Having met incredible people from all around the world and kind of falling in love with travelling ever since I decided I wouldnt like to stay at home until I start university in october but rather see more of whats out there. So me and my best friend decided to go on a backpacking tour around the world for three months starting in february this year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I´ve heard of couchsurfing just recently of a friend I got to know in South Africa and it immediately caught my attention. I think the concept is amazing. Apart from helping you to save some money on accomodation costs which for most young people travelling on a budget can be a great relief, it provides you with uncomparable opportunity to get to know the country. And that´s what I actually consider the greatest benefit- to get to know people from all around the world, exchange thoughts and ideas, get some inside information on the countries must see and do, to have a good time and maybe even make some new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don´t really have some special preferences in music, I´d say I´m listening to a good mix of everything. Apart from that I really enjoy doing music myself, and whether It´s singing in a karaoke bar or going dancing- just count me in.

About movies and series, I´d say my netflix account kinda has it all. With my favourite series being modern family, gilmore girls, money heist ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A good experience I made so far? Definitely all the times I went abroad. And while travelling with my family has always been a nice thing I think the time I enjoyed myself and learned the most and therefore also made the best memories was all the times I went somewhere on my own getting to know the locals. Especially my three week exchange programmes with Costa Rica, Spain and France during highschool were great. The one that tops it all was my stay in South Africa volunteering in a Crèche in Cape Town, not only did the little children teach my a lot but it was just a great time spent with amazing people and making memories for life.

What I can share with you as a host? I hope a lot. We´re both very open minded people and love to exchange ideas and thoughts. If you yourself are looking forward to learn some German or just get to know the German culture a little more, we´re happy to answer you any questions you have.
