About Me

I am a fun loving 41 year old who loves to travel and meet new people and make new friends. I enjoy others company but do like to have a little of my own space too sometimes. I am outgoing and love to laugh, love and share experiences. I normally make good friends on my travels and like to get involved in most activities and excursions. I enjoy adventure, walking, riding horses and being surrounded by nature. I am just beginning to learn some yoga and meditation and would like to continue with this. I do drink alcohol but do not need a drink to have a good time! I love my food and love to cook and eat out(finance permitting!)I don't do much nightclubbing these days but still love a good party every now and again with the right people and not fussed where it is, but camping at a festival is my favourite kind of partying! I am trying to get fit and do enjoy going to the gym and joining in the classes when I have can. I'm at the end of my 3 month travels around New Zealand which I spent with my sister in a camper van and was bowled over by the scenery and the people we met on the way.
Unfortunately I have not taken part in couchsurfing before so I do not have any references to go by, but if need be I can ask for some people to email you with a character reference.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have just signed up to couch surfing so i am very new too this! I heard many good things about it on my travels and I think it is a great way to get to know the locals and sample the local life. I also stayed in hotels for a few nights but found they weren't so friendly as everyone seemed to be on their phones or laptops! I prefer to speak to people in real time!
Meeting locals was the one thing I wanted to do more of when travelling New Zealand as I only tended to meet other travellers, (which was cool), but found when meeting locals they had so much knowledge of the local area and activities to access and so I felt I missed out a little. By couch surfing this will give me this opportunity.

Interests

I love to meet people, old and young and anything in-between! I love good food, music and a good bottle of wine! I do like to party once in a while but I also love to sit back and relax at home with a good book or dvd.
I love to be active and I have been known to go canyoning, white water rafting and tramping. I would love to have the opportunity to go paragliding and maybe skydiving?!?
I love to be outside and enjoy camping very much. Being surrounded by nature is what makes me feel the most alive.
I like to go to the gym, I go horse riding when I can and can actually get up on a surfboard - just!
I have just started to learn some yoga and would love to continue with this. I try to meditate but find this difficult to do alone so I tend to try and mix this in with some light stretching yoga.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite bands include Bob Marley, Dreadzone, Faithless, Vampire Weekend, Amy Winehouse, Counting Crows, Amy McDonald and many more! I love most music and am open to being introduced to much more! I kind of draw the line at heavy metal though - can't quite get to grips with it!
My favourite movies include True Romance, The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption and Fried Green Tomatoes.
Unfortunately I don't read that much but when I do they tend to be spiritual at this time in my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is a difficult one as what one person thinks is amazing, another may not see it as that!
I think I have done many amazing things, from exciting activities to my job as a Paramedic to travelling different countries.
But one of the most amazing and humbling things I have ever done is living with and nursing my Aunty in her own home when she was coping with a terminal illness. With the help of her sister and many others, we helped her have a dignified and peaceful end to her life on earth.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to teach people to become more open minded, patient, loving, non-judgemental.
I would love to learn more Thai, yoga, meditation and also patience and become less judgemental!
I love to share experiences,, knowledge, love and light. Not quite sure about sharing my wine! Only kidding!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences, my cooking and my music. I am an open book really and I always give back what I get and more! If you would like to make a good friend, have a fun time and make fond memories then I'm the surfer for you!

Countries I’ve Visited
