Overview
About Me
Hi! I am Anna Daniels, originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the United States. I moved to Florence, Italy in January to get my Teaching English as a Foreign Language Certification and have been teaching online ever since. I'm a friendly, outgoing person who loves to talk about literally anything - especially if good beer is included. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a focus in marketing and worked in a major healthcare corporation doing clinical marketing for the living donor transplant program in Pittsburgh. I wasn't quite ready to settle down and start my 9 to 5 corporate life quite yet, so I decided to move to Italy on a whim and become a teacher. It's been one of the greatest decisions I have ever made!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
So far, I have spent all of my time in Italy (Florence, Rome, and Venice), but I'm looking to travel around Europe until my visa expires in June. Since I'm traveling on my own, I wanted to find a way to meet new people and get to know the areas from locals!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - anything by Walk the Moon (if you don't know them you should check them out) but overall a lot of indie pop and indie rock. I'm not too picky though, as long as it isn't country music I'll listen!
Movies - I've never been a huge movie person, but my favorites are Burlesque (I love Christina Aguilera) and Gone Girl (it's just so crazy and I can't imagine that people like that really exist!)
Books - The Harry Potter series is my all time favorite just because I can always escape any problems I'm having by opening up any one of the books and spending a few hours finishing the whole thing
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved to Italy on a whim in January without much planning or thought to it. It was extremely out of character for me, but I'm so incredibly glad I did it. I've been able to explore amazing cities, meet some of my best friends in the world, and start to learn a new language. It's given me a new perspective on life and I can't believe there was a time I thought I shouldn't do it!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am an English teacher so if you're looking to work on your English, I'm your girl. I am also somewhat proficient in speaking French and would love to work on that more. My Italian is extremely rough so if you could help me out with that too I would be down.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A positive, outgoing personality that is always ready to meet new people and try new things. I've also been told by one of my guy friends that I'm his only female friend he doesn't feel like he needs to look out for at bars because he knows I can hold my own. So you won't have to worry too much about me.
If you're looking to visit Italy, I can give you plenty of recommendations of where to go in Florence, Rome, Venice, Cavallino, and Pompei!
