ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Annalise and I think it's high time for me to start traveling and exploring this beautiful planet a LOT more.

My job keeps me busy most of the time, including having me travel between 3-6 months a year. Sadly, my travels typically turn into more of just a long commute - fly, work, fly straight home without seeing much more than an airport and a hotel. After my 9th trip to Australia within 3 years I decided enough is enough! Life is too short and this world is too beautiful for me not to take advantage of every experience.

I guess that's what brought me here. One thing I DO love about the travels my work requires is the chance to meet people from different cultures and backgrounds and get to see places from their perspectives.

I'd love to meet new, like-minded people who share my adventurous spirit. I'm more than happy to host (whenever I'm actually in the country) and would love to utilize this amazing community on my travels as well.

I guess that's all for now, I'm just getting started. I can't wait to meet some of the amazing people out there.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy would have to be "Do something every day that scares you." Life is too short to live inside your comfort zone because it's really when you start pushing those boundaries that life begins.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm only just starting out, but my sister has been a member for years and absolutely loves it. I'll look forward to adding to this section after a few months or so :).

Interests

I'm all about the outdoors, nerd culture, history, and people.

Anything like hiking, rock climbing, rafting, etc. just rocks my world.

Along with that, I love learning the history of places and visiting museums and cultural exhibits, so if you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Basically anything sic-fi, fantasy or just all round amazing will earn my love.

I love music that makes you happy, books that make you think and cinema that suspends your reality and takes you somewhere else for a period of time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favorite experiences so far has been camping on the lawn of Buckingham Palace for the Royal wedding in '11. We had nothing but a duvet, and an umbrella to shelter us from the wind and rain, but it was AMAZING.

There were thousands of people from all over the world who came along just to experience it. Meeting so many people and hearing their stories was truly inspiring.
