About Me

I guess I could say that the thing that describes me the most is that I'm a music lover; I just got my Bachelor in Flute, and I love music in all its forms. I think it is the art that above all others better unites body, heart and mind; it keeps you always in touch with your emotions and it always challenges you to push your limits.
The only thing I love as much as music is to travel: I jump on a plane everytime I get a chance and I love to visit new places and meet people from all over the world; being a student helps beacause having to travel on a low budget made me pick always the largest and cheapest hostel dormrooms I could find, resulting in meeting always peculiar people on my trips. I love making friends with people whose background is totally different from mine; it's a totally different perspective on the world and on life, and I believe that the more point of views you get, and you learn to value and accept, the better you become as an human being.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it unifies my desire to travel and get a chance to see the real culture and people of the place I'm visiting with my costant condition of being broke all the time since I'm a 21 yo student who's paying for her own trips.
I hate to travel as a tourist, sightseeing buses, segways and anything else that would make people point at me and say "she's definitely not from here". I live in Rome and I make fun of people like that all the time. I wanna experience the place that I'm visiting, I wanna learn the culture and make memories, not just taking pictures of the pretty monuments. CS gives me the chance to do all that.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love classical music the most but I have a vareigated background of punk, rock, jazz and country music; I really can appreciate anything.
Some movies that I like: The blues Borthers, Full metal Jacket, The clockwork orange, any Woody Allen movie, Life is Beautiful, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Reservoir dogs, Tarantino in general, Harold and Maude, The eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, David Lynch movies. I also like to watch TV series in my spare time.
I like books of every kind, from literary essays to novels. some of the books that I really loved are: Alice in Wonderland, Wuthering Heights, the unbearable lightness of being, The Agony and the Ecstasy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The event that changed my life the most was my exchange year in West Virginia, USA when I was 17. I was just a kid but already in need to feed my hunger for wanderlust; I left my school, my family and friends in Rome to live in this tiny country place in WV. It changed my life completly. Up to that moment I thought I was an openminded person: But I really didn't become one until I had to live in a totally different country for a year and learn how to appreciate non only the good things but even the bad things of a different country, like pineapple on pizza. I also met so many other exchange students: some of them went to my high school and we became such good friends. We couldn't be more different from each other but that sort of became our strength, we shared so much and learned so much from each other. That made me realize how much important international friends are.

My travel-related favorite memory is the New Year's Eve I spent watching the Northen lights at the top of Finland in 2016.
