About Me

CURRENT MISSION

struggling towards giving roots and wings to all my studentsdents

ABOUT ME

Open and cordial, always curious about new cultures and know new countries. Love to show Italian way of life and the best of my country to foreign people. Enthusiastic and passionate about my work (teaching). Love to work in team and go for new ideas and challenges. Rooted to my family and friends.

PHILOSOPHY

Pablo Neruda - Die slowly

He who becomes the slave of habit,
who follows the same routes every day,
who never changes pace,
who does not risk and change the color of his clothes,
who does not speak and does not experience,
dies slowly.

He or she who shuns passion,
who prefers black on white,
dotting ones "it’s" rather than a bundle of emotions, the kind that make your eyes glimmer,
that turn a yawn into a smile,
that make the heart pound in the face of mistakes and feelings,
dies slowly.

He or she who does not turn things topsy-turvy,
who is unhappy at work,
who does not risk certainty for uncertainty,
to thus follow a dream,
those who do not forego sound advice at least once in their lives,
die slowly.
He who does not travel, who does not read,
who does not listen to music,
who does not find grace in himself,
she who does not find grace in herself,
dies slowly.

He who slowly destroys his own self-esteem,
who does not allow himself to be helped,
who spends days on end complaining about his own bad luck, about the rain that never stops,
dies slowly.

He or she who abandon a project before starting it, who fail to ask questions on subjects he doesn't know, he or she who don't reply when they are asked something they do know,
die slowly.

Let's try and avoid death in small doses,
reminding oneself that being alive requires an effort far greater than the simple fact of breathing.

Only a burning patience will lead
to the attainment of a splendid happiness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope both to host and be hosted.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was hosted a few times

Interests

I've always loved cooking, reading, travelling, hiking, and most of all slow travelling by bike Now that my daughters are grown up I've many more opportunities to indulge in that sometimes with Sergio my husband, sometimes with friends.
I like to think that things can happen in life and people and opportunities be at any corner of your path if you just keep your mind and heart open. I spend most of my time working. I love to find always new ways to keep adjourned and create new opportunities for my students. recently I've engaged in many projects with other european countries and even USA related to physics but also involving pupils exchange and cultural approach.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like novels and mostly thrillers together with good science divulgation. I like to read in English and German to keep in exercise . the same with movies: so i usually go for not too heavy ones. Music : both classical and modern (pop).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

From each of the people I met on my path I learnt something that I still bring along with me
Some years ago I sent "a message in a bottle" to a science teacher portal with a call for collaboration: a USA colleague picked it up ...and I brought my students from the Appenines to USA! From Americans I've learnt that you can dare and your personal dream come true if you work hard enough.
From my German colleague I learnt the constance, patience and superorganization in succesful work and that friendships can be forever in spite of different backgrounds and miles of distance.
From my Bulgarian friends in a never to forget holiday in Sofia that home is where the heart lies and hospitality is still a sacred value for many no matter how much money they have.
All of them helped me to overcome prejudices and cliches

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a bit of Italian (mostly Emilia Romagna) cooking.
For any (Physics) teacher travelling by I can share some of the experiments and practicese I learnt during the projects I've taken part to ... it could also happen that I will ask you to join in one! :-)
