Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far extremely positive!

Interests

I like watching alternative movies, reading, studying cultures and travelling.
In all the places I have lived in the last ten years I was always extremely active in the international community (travelling, uni and at work).
I also like going for long walks, swimming and I do Yoga.
I try to eat as much organic food as possible, at home I mainly use the vegetables from my own garden. I try to cook my own food every day, however I still like to go to a "nice" restaurant every one in a while. I also do enjoy cooking with my friends a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been working as a tour guide in a butterfly garden in Costa Rica after I graduated from high-school. Since of my tour was also about insects I was getting used to work with the tarantula and take it in my hand, a thing I would never have thought before that I would ever be capable of doing that. I guess that tought my that most things in life are pretty harmless and that you just need to know learn how to deal with the situation instead of having fear.

The other thing that really impressed me was when I was in the jeep with my dad in Tanzania. My dad was trying to make fun of a baboon. My dad was showing the baboon a banana and insted of giving it to him he took it back in the car making a smirky face. What happened is that the hungry baboon actually jumped in the jeep, took the banana and slapped my dad in the face. My dad was pretty perplex while I found the whole situation extremely entertaining. This taugt me that you should never underestimate anyone, even if you think he or she might be a monkey. ;-)
