ABOUT ME

I'm a 21-year-old architecture student from Finland. I get inspired in stories, all kinds of happenings and visual culture. Meeting new people is one of the greatest things in life to me. That's also why I'm doing CS.

I enjoy experiencing new places with my good friends, and a big part of trips is getting to know new people. I would describe myself as an extremely extroverted person: people give me energy and I get easily bored alone. However, I'm not all about laughing aloud and rushing around - I enjoy having a cup of coffee and a good conversation with a friend as well.

Sports has been a big part of my life and when I was younger I used to compete in mid-distance running. After leaving competitions I've taken it a bit easier: I enjoy yoga, cross-country skiing and long morning runs.

I love cooking and dining with friends. Together with my sister and her boyfriend we have a habit of cooking three-course dinners on Sundays. It often takes almost the whole day and I cannot imagine any better way to spend time.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I've hosted people with my flatmate but not through CS. My flatmate has been responsible for exchange students in our student organization and we've offered a place to stay for them for a couple nights.

I got familiar with couchsurfing during my trip to New York in Dec 2014. Attending CS events and meeting amazing people there taught me how strong and open the community is.

Centres d'intérêt

As my studies are related to art, I'm interested in art in many its forms. I do photography (not professionally) and enjoy visiting art museums. Especially modern art interests me as it usually gives us a totally new perspective on everyday life.

Different sports is also a great passion in life for me. I do sports several times a week: for example running, swimming and cross-country skiing. Some of my friends say I'm a masochist as I like the feeling of being totally exhausted after a workout.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I've read many amazing books so far. The Finnish literature has had quite an impact on me as it has taught me to express myself literally. The Finnish authors that I admire are Väinö Linna, Sofi Oksanen and Tove Jansson. I also read in English and my favorites are Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Haruki Murakami and Kazuo Ishiguro.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

In Dec 2014 I organized the biggest and most superior party in my life: the 106th annual ball for the Guild of Architecture, our student organization. We had over two hundred guests and the party consisted of the cocktail party, three-course dinner with performances, afterparty and "Yrjis" (traditional night swim and sauna at the art nouveau style swimming hall). We made all from scratch with volunteer students.

I'm open with my thoughts and ready to discuss all kinds of topics. I also want to share smile and laugh as they are so great forces in life.

I want to share my positive attitude in life. I try to learn and experience as much as possible so I'm very curious of the people I meet. I'm a good listener and genuinely interested in the way different people see the world.
