ABOUT ME

When I'm not working most of my time is spent day dreaming, watching movies, listening to music, wandering about, taking pictures, setting my imagination free and basically planning my escape ! Actually, it's also what I do when I AM working !

I'm easy-going and curious. I talk a lot but try my best to listen ! I can be both outgoing and shy. Sure of myself or on the contrary completely insecure. I sometimes need a good kick in the ass to do stuff because of that, but I'm easily enthused.

I have an unexplainable passion for India. I love travelling, being on the road. Going to a place is as exciting as being there itself.

I read a lot but never manage to finish the books I start.

I have thousands of notebooks to write all kinds of thoughts, mostly boring but necessary !

I would say trend is not my problem.

I've stopped watching the news and the world has become a happy place again !

In real life I'm a Film editor. I would be happy to explain what I do as I feel fairly neglected when people stare at me with big wide eyes and say "Ah, Film editing... What's that exactly ?" !!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CS experience was in Barcelona in 2007 and I must say it was a great one. I started hosting in 2007, but haven't been able to do it much before moving to Paris. A bunch of cool people ended up sleeping on my floor there, and a bunch of great people ended surfing my couch in Brussels since (most of which are referenced on Alicia Fischmeister's profile and ex-common profile, just in case you want to make sure !)

Interests

Cinema (a lot), travelling, music, hanging out with my friends... I love to have long talks with people I meet and I'm very curious about other cultures. I love India, it's kind of my second home, in a way !
I've also enjoy photography alot and try to practice as much as I can during my free time.
I enjoy dancing a lot although curiously enough I don't dance myself ! But seeing people dance gives me some kind of amazing energy. And discovering Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker last year changed my life !!

Music, Movies, and Books

Cinema is a very important part of my life. Amongst my favourite directors : Alain Resnais, Visconti, Hitchcock, Wilder, Garrel and tons of others. I have a thing for Hollywood musicals from the 50's, I can't help it. I'm the kind of person who would eagerly sing and dance in the street if it wasn't for the staring !! (may be ok after a few drinks). Amongst the few recent films that blew my mind, There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, Les Herbes Folles, Vincere etc... !

I'm also the kind of person who always has a tune in mind. I'm more of a folk/rock person. The Strokes, The Doors, Beirut, Andrew Bird, Devendra Banhart, Vampire Weekend, Nina Simone, Fleet Foxes, Moriarty, The Kinks, Feist, Balkan Beat Box, Serge Gainsbourg, Architecture in Helsinki, Four Tet, Yeasayer and so on... I'm pretty much open to everything except brazilian bossa nova which has the unexpected effect of making me nauseous :s

As for books, I've been caught in the long process of reading A la Recherche du Temps Perdu for a few years now ! A very slow process as I tend to read a lot of other books in between two pages of Proust !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been paraglinding many times and went skydiving once. I've chased off a pervert teenager in Rishikesh thanks to a 75 rupee umbrella !
And maybe a few other things not really worth mentionning !

How to make a total fool of yourself in a supermarket is my speciality... fancy a trolley ride ? Black humour and cynicism. Giving out useless facts about useless things.
Apart from that my teaching skills are fairly poor !
