About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Use my job (librarian and researcher) as an excuse to travel the world; befriend your feline :)
ABOUT ME
I am a book and people person. Nothing makes me happier than combining the two, especially if history and languages are thrown in the mix! I am also a foodie - always on the hunt for a good dessert and enjoy cooking for others. I absolutely love travelling and these days I do much it in the form of solo travel, which I find liberating and also makes for really funny (or terrifying, according to my family) anecdotes.
PHILOSOPHY
I truly believe what makes us human is our ability to connect through stories. So tell me some!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I joined CS in 2009 when I was living with my partner Matteo in our hometown in Italy and we hosted quite a few people through to 2012. Amost ten years (what?!) and a number of international moves later, we currently do not live together and neither of us can host (bummer!), but I am now updating this profile as my own and hope to meet fellow travellers passing through London (and perhaps surf some couches, which I did not get to do much at the time - we were mostly hosting!)
Interests
Books, libraries, food, books (again), wine, travel, history, museums, human rights, feminism, education, photography, wine, linguistics.

Music, Movies, and Books
My tastes in music, movies and books change all the time. Maybe you can help me discover my new favourite artist / author! In fact... do recommend a good book you've read recently if you're messaging me - so that I know you've at least taken a look at my profile! :) (Sorry, lots of users sending random messages to dozens of people at the same time lately).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Backpacked (hand-luggage-packed) solo the US for a month, Boston to LA. Got badly lost at the airport in Mexico City at midnight. Moved to cities I'd never visited in foreign countries, several times. Got stuck in the rain and mud in countryside Greece, and was rescued by Bulgarian passers-by. Got stuck in seaside Slovenia due to language barrier on a day trip.
My stories involved a lot of getting lost, which I love.
I once became an Iraqi citizen for a week, due to a typo in a temporary ID.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you bits of quite a few languages (plus linguistics), how to cook Italian food - and a lot about London. Also how to fit your life in a suitcase, apparently!
I want to learn anything you'd like to teach me. But most of all I want to learn about you, your places, and your culture.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Risotto, funny stories, an eager ear for YOUR funny (and engaging, and sad, and random) stories, travel tips.
