About Me

I am relatively inexperienced with couchsurfing...teach me your ways! I love the idea and I have really appreciated the people I've met/friends I have made so far.

CS experience: I traveled solo from May 2015 to the last week of October that year in Europe (taking a four week part of the summer to study art and history in Rome). Couchsurfing was a part of the fun - I met so many wonderful people that helped me so much while I was abroad. I made some friends through couchsurfing in my hometown, when I made a friend that I'm still in touch with from India and another visitor from Sweden, and my first time couchsurfing was in Santa Fe when I was checking out the college that I've now attended for the last two years :)

I love to read books and write in my journal, learn about people and their history, languages, and cultures, learn about art, politics, and what makes a human being....hiking, yoga, classical music, beautiful scenery, adventures, hard and physical work, conversation, good sleep, painting, healthy and delicious food......

I want to learn (hopefully from you) about culture, history, dance, music, art, food and life from the people I meet. I love hearing stories and sharing experiences with my friends old and new.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because my travels are much more fruitful when I am accompanied by friends. I want to learn how to be a good host and friend for others.

I have friends all over the US and also in Europe, other networks, I have a tent that's light enough to strap to my backpack if I don't want to pay for a hostel, and I can afford feed myself. These are not reasons that I want to couchsurf. I want to couchsurf because I want to discover the soul of the world and its cities, its people.

For the future, having my own place so I can host couchsurfers, my friends and my family is something I hope for. For now, this isn't possible. One day, though, I would be happy to host you :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Maybe when we meet we will find common interests...but to list everything is too much.

In the past, I have really loved oldies tunes. Lately I've been into classical music (especially with piano, because I play) and jazz. I also like folky stuff with good lyrics.

I never have time for movies anymore (studying, traveling, reading....I know it's our new art and I'm missing out. Maybe you can show me one of your favorites!) great books and poetry. I really like dancing and I would like to learn different styles and forms (a little taste of swing and I'm hungry for more...)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got on a plane at the JFK airport, fell asleep, woke up in Roma.

Lived 2 minutes from St Peter's Basilica and discussed Livy's histories in the Vatican.

I've seen the harvest moon look so big and red it seemed to be a large balloon hanging over Rome from Janiculum hill.

Hiked at the chalk cliffs in Sassnitz.

Slept on a park bench overlooking Hell's Canyon.

Swam in the Mediterranean Sea from a beach in Sicily.

Stood beneath the great dome of the Hagia Sophia.

Hitchhiked in Transylvania.

Watched a sunset fall over the beautiful city of Dresden.

Picked tomatoes in Bulgaria. Saw Veliko Tarnovo.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know some things and I'm curious about a lot of things. I play the piano, so that's something I can teach you a little about, also, recipes...a friend of mine recently showed me how to make great lasagna. I can also make homemade gnocchi and ricotta, European OR American style pancakes, pb&js, raw&vegan cheesecake with cashews almond milk. Hosts, if you wish, I'll fatten you up in the most pleasurable way! Otherwise, let's go for a run!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a good cook, conversationalist, musician and friend. I will listen, chat, laugh, and explore with you. I'm also a great dish washer ;)
