About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am WALKING the entire island of Cyprus (over 400 miles in 60 days) to gather stories, pictures, and information about what unites this divided island. This project—funded in part by a National Geographic Young Explorers Grant—is an effort to steer the conversation away from politics, highlight cultural similarities between the two sides, and facilitate greater understanding and cohesion in the near future.
Please help me find Cypriots willing to participate in the project or host me and my team on our journey!
ABOUT ME
Anthropologist, Archaeologist, National Geographic Young Explorer...about to go on a very long walk.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Beginning in May 2016, three people (myself, my cousin, and my god-brother) will walk 400 miles in 60 days—circumnavigating the island of Cyprus—to gather narratives, video footage, and images pertaining to the segregation that has been in effect for over forty years.
But we need your help! We need participants—ideally 18-35 year olds—willing to guide us through their homelands, open their homes, and share their stories!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last summer, I spent two months kayaking around an island off the coast of Washington state, documenting archaeological sites. Everyday I got to enjoy nature, physically challenge myself, and contribute to our understanding of Native American cultural heritage.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love nothing more than to show others why I love anthropology, why it's so fascinating, and pass on my passion.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I want to incorporate my hosts voices into the Circumnavigating Cyprus project!
During our journey we want to stop and chat with local youths on each side of the barrier. Each person will be given a digital camera for one to two days and asked take photographs or short videos that exemplify their lives as a Cypriot. By encouraging participants to take photos and videos themselves, we will give priority to their own voices and perspectives, rather than speaking on their behalf.
