Overview
About Me
I grew up on the river and have since fallen in love with the coast. I am currently pursuing my masters degree from UNC Chapel Hill in Marine Sciences specializing in coastal geology. I received my BS in geology at the same school. As a scientist, I'm always eager to learn more about the way the world works, and I hope to contribute to the vast knowledge belonging to humanity. I spend the majority of weekends away from school to reach beyond the lab and see what else the world can offer and what I can offer the world in return.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite Author: Tom Robbins. Close second: Carl Hiaasen. And of course I have to throw Hunter S. Thompson in there.
Music 1) Cage the Elephant 2) Gorillaz 2.5) Glass Animals 3) Wax Tailor 4) Griz 5) And the list goes on and on.
Movies? Unfortunately I don't watch movies much. I have seen Fight Club about 11 times though.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My sister and I hiked 440 miles along Camino de Santiago, sleeping in our tiny tent along the way. Our thrifty method of traveling earned us the trail name, "The Tent Girls."
Teach, Learn, Share
Sea-level in North Carolina is rising at about 2.1 mm/yr (Kemp et al 2011). I study how salt-marshes and oyster reefs react to sea-level rise. Ask me about my research and I can tell you more!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Raised in south, I can clean a house. If you provide the supplies, I will gladly get your bathroom, kitchen, living room, or what have you in tip-top shape (within reason).
