About Me

CURRENT MISSION

sending postcards to loved ones, rediscover oldfashioned words

ABOUT ME

I like the taste of rain, the smell of petrol and comparing seat upholstery patterns on long or not so long public transport travels.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

packing my bag and help others unpacking

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When couchsurfing I encountered the following, non of which I'd want to miss: warm welcomes, shared dinners, free city tours, dancing on kitchen furniture, spontaneous trips together, love, talks over pints, smiles, English breakfast, friends, more friends and stories long and short, forsaken and astounding, enriching, uplifting and very fun alike. I also bought a lot of postcards.

Interests

i like snow but summer is great too.

climbing on furniture, trees or rubbish heaps can be great fun!

clothes in general i kinda like as well. especially if they belonged to somebody else before!

Music, Movies, and Books

other people have record collections, i am obsessed with books! where ever i go, my favourite souvenir will always be the grubby old oscar wilde copy i found at the local charity shop, some stylish vintage dictionary of rarely used and oldfashioned words or my current favourite bestseller. one of my favourite finds was alan sillitoe's "the loneliness of the long distance runner" which luckily placed itself in my way when browsing at a second hand fair at uni. (i never really look for something in particular, but somehow never leave a bookstore emptyhanded either). at the moment i am hooked to irish writer roddy doyle. secondary literature is most welcome as well and i kept all my schoolbooks which still occupy several shelves in my old room at my parent's.

musicwise i am most susceptible to anything down the soul and 60s route! occasional binge dancing very likely! if you wanted to put a cliche label on me i would happily accept "mod".

when i was little, my dad made us watch cinematographic milestones such as the who's "quadrophenia" or good old "easy rider" every time they'd be on telly. the love for all things retro incited at such an early age as 12 certainly never wavered!

and thanks mum for bequeathing to me your old beatles records!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

this question is so hard and puts the same grimace of spontaneous contemplation on my face that appears when you ask me for my favourite band or musician.

for lack of a more exotic experience of deserts, mountains or carribean beaches: staring at a sunny summer sky whilst sprawling on a lawn that tickles my naked arms and legs is pretty much bliss.

Teach, Learn, Share

i'd like to learn more tongue twisters! and also i am a very bad chef, altough i enjoy communal cooking...if there's recipes out there which will strengthen my skills, bring 'em along!

the same can be said about cocktails! or drinking games. or sewing maybe.
