About Me
Hey! My name is Annarose and I come from the Pacific Northwest, USA. I love all things outdoors: hiking, camping, canoeing, rock climbing, etc. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, dancing, reading and meeting new people. I also love to make music (guitar, piano, and singing). In 2019, I graduated with a triple major in International Studies, Spanish, and Latin American Studies (can you see why I like to travel?). I am now doing my dream job, working for a non-profit art studio in northern Mexico that offers free classes to the local community. On a good day, I go on a walk to a local park, grab tacos with friends (YUM!), and read at one of the many amazing local coffee shops.
I believe making friends is one of the best parts of traveling and I try to do it everywhere I go. I’ve traveled to 23 different countries on four different continents, all in the past four years. One of my most memorable experiences was backpacking South America after a semester abroad in Colombia. I met so many unique and kind people, and tried out Couchsurfing for the first time in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The reason I love couchsurfing is that I’m not a fan of touristy travel, where you spend all day in museums/tours in the most polished part of the city. As I backpacked through South America, I learned that I definitely prefer to experience daily life the way locals do -- hanging out in the same spaces, discovering the less popular but way more delicious food, and seeing the city through their lenses. It's also such a neat opportunity to both impact each other; you learn from every person who crosses your path, no matter how short your time together. So here’s to travel and new friends! I hope to meet you soon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 14-years-old, I was challenged to feed 500 families in need in my community for Thanksgiving. At first, I didn’t think it was even possible, but through excellent mentorship and an incredible community that rallied together, we ended up feeding 630 families.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a native English speaker and currently volunteer teaching it, so I'm happy to help a new friend practice. I also play a couple instruments and am always down for a jam sesh. I’d love to learn new things such as language, yoga, how to make local recipes, or card games. In college, I majored in International Studies because I wanted to better understand our diverse world. I am fascinated to learn about the history, language, politics, and culture of every place I visit... so if you have stuff to share, I'm all ears! I love to get outside, walk around, and check out my host's favorite places.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to cook and am happy to share food/learn new recipes! I’m a very tidy person and can help out around the house. I’m also great with kids, having five younger siblings and a summer camp counseling under my belt. I’m always down for an evening music session and can share stories, experiences, and lessons I’ve learned throughout my travels.
