About Me

Hi! My name is Anna and I'm from Denmark, studying in Scotland! I'm also half Austrian and Iranian - but my knowledge of Iranian culture starts and ends with the (really good) food.

I'm currently studying Sociology and Digital Media, but this year also doing computing science on the side. I love art & technology and tend to watch multiple movies a week, although maybe not so much when travelling.

I work as a digital evaluation intern at a community centre & I'm also involved in our student television, GUST, where I work on small animation shorts and am currently planning a documentary. Otherwise, I also run and write for a small online audio culture magazine I started with my friends - so in general, just really love all kinds of creative adventures!

Music, Movies, and Books

Before switching degrees, I was originally doing a film degree, so I do consider myself someone who watches quite a lot of movies. Some favourite movies include the Killing of a Sacred Deer, Dr. Strangelove, Stoker, It's Such a Beautiful Day, and, of course, Paddington 2.

I also often go to a lot of local gigs & listen to a lot of different music - but generally lean towards quite modern and electronic and/or minimalist sounds (still love the Strokes). Some of my favourite artists are The xx, Bon Iver, alt-J, and FKA Twigs.

While at uni, I don't read as much as I'd like to, but my favourite books are still The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera and books by Italo Calvino. Otherwise, I really like reading non-fiction, my latest favourite being Art as Design by Bruno Munari!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was much younger (around 14?) I completed a full-length novel (about 110 pages on word) - I'm still quite proud of that!

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to tutor people in German, so if you want to learn High School-level German, I'm good for that!

I can also help you troubleshoot really basic computer problems and show you how to photoshop E.T's head on Justin Vernon's body (please don't ask why I had to teach someone that).

I love learning things, anything!, so if there's any subject you're super into, I'd probably love hearing about it!
