About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Not to sit back and watch the world from a safe distance but to be intimately involved in its everyday workings...and to always be a little bit ridiculous!
ABOUT ME
Things I enjoy: wool socks, peppermint hot chocolate, cool, clear days, sunrises and sunsets, watching leaves change and flowers bloom, coming home from a trip, my bed, being outrageously nerdy, getting obsessed with a new tv show, the feeling of falling, change, and dogs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I don't have a lot, but I give what I can.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I spent a few weeks each summer of high school traveling around with my churches handbell ensemble (like I said, outrageously nerdy!) and we would stay with families at each church or community we played in all over the county and in the UK. People who didn't know us brought us into their homes and treated us like family. My family has been able to do the same thing for other groups traveling through our community and I am so grateful that we have been able to repay, even slightly, the generosity of those countless number of families who gave us whatever space they had, shared stories and meals, and made us feel at home even though we were just a bunch of kids from thousands of miles away!
Interests
I teach high school math, so in my free time I like to drink. Kidding. Sort of. No I love cooking, reading, binge-watching Netflix, going on long leisurely hikes, and hanging out at a park or on a rooftop with friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been privileged and fortunate enough to have seen a few truly glorious sunrises in my lifetime. The three that stand out most in my mind are: 1) the Sahara Desert in Morocco 2) the Tanzanian savanna and 3) Lake Michigan, Chicago after being out all night.
Teach, Learn, Share
Hmmm...skills...I'm really good at sudoku...and I love water polo and rugby, but those aren't exactly transferable skills. I love working with english language learners and I love, in turn, learning bits of new languages!
