About Me

Hello!
I'm Anna.
In January 2016 I left Ekaterinburg (Russia) to pursue my studies in France, and here I am. Now I am working as a Russian language assistant in Lycée Bellevue in Albi and Lycée Saint-Sernin in Toulouse. Currently based in Albi.
There is a lot of things I do, but my biggest passion is visual arts: I am fond of photography and cinema, and I spend a lot of time exploring this dimension. Some of my works can be seen here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/captain_annie/

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Currently I'm based in France, so now there is a great possibility to connect with people from all over the world which was much more complicated when I was in my home country. I really enjoy travelling and meet new people, and CS is a great and safe platform to combine everything that is necessary for a nice journey.

Music, Movies, and Books

In cinema I'm a big fan of Wes Anderson, David Fincher, Xavier Dolan and Edgar Wright for their brilliant visual and narrative styles. I also really enjoy Robert Yeoman's and Emmanuel Lubezky's amazing cinematography.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Even though I can't really impress fellow couchsurfers with a number of countries I've visited and mountains which I conquered (it's all in the future, I hope), I can tell you about my best professional experience which is also sort of my professional revelation as well.
In autumn 2015 due to the several circumstances, I was given an amazing opportunity to work as an interpreter (French/Russian and vice-versa) in the State Academic Theatre of Opera and Balley in Yekaterinburg. I've always loved music, I even have a musical education, so I was quite familiar with the terminology, so I accepted the invitation with a great excitement. So for the next month, I worked with the opera singers improving their French pronunciation behind the curtains of one of the greatest opera ever, "Carmen" by Georges Bizet.
This actually changed my life, because a brave new world of professional opportunities for a Language student has opened to me, and I also reconnected to my musical experience from my childhood.
And since then I really, really love theater, opera and "Carmen" in particular.

Also I did a Transsiberian (from Moscow to Beijing) in 2017 :)
