About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm a traveler myself, love meeting new people & open to new experiences
ABOUT ME
Born in the UK, grew up in Mexico... currently been living in Costa Rica for over 30 years. I'm a single mom of 2 young adults, 22 and 21. We're a young chill family, I work from home and the kids work and study full time. We're big beach-goers so we spend most of our weekends at the beach. My son is a surfer and I'm out either hiking or on my kayak. I work from wherever I have an internet connection so as long as I have that I can travel and work as much as I want.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful... I've been a single mom for over 14 years now and I love every minute of it. I'm a very happy person, live life to the fullest (or as much as possible) and I'm extremely easy going, enjoy all the little things. Life's to short not to be happy, have fun and do the things you love right?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We have a small house but have a house on the beach and a vintage VW Camper. We're outdoors a lot so we're open to hosting at home, showing you around the beaches or even the city.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't couch-surfed myself but have had many people over at the house, have made friends for life! I've also showed many people around the beaches and the city... great experiences so far!
Interests
I work full time from home or on the go so I have quite some free time and also the ability to work on the road. I travel as much as I can, usually head north as I have a huge long buck list of National Parks and destinations that I want to get to. I'm an outdoor nut so trekking, hiking, camping or backpacking are high on my list. I also kayak almost every other weekend, mostly on the ocean. Other than that I like to read and I'm a great cook. Love the mountains, beach or city... a night out on the town is as good as a chill day on the beach.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is such a moody thing for me.... Pink Floyd rocks, that's my top top top fave. I'll listen to anything from trance, electronic, alternative rock, oldies, chill out, reggae and even some pop stuff. Road tripping to oldies is the best... dancing to trance is very liberating or just hanging out with some good wine to ambiance.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Wow... way too many to list here. I've been very lucky to have travelled ever since I was a child so I've really seen a lot and done a lot. Some of my favorite things are:
- Colorado - what can I say, hiking Rocky Mountain National Park, backcountry snowshoeing, fishing and snowboarding.
- Walked the busy streets of Buenos Aires from beginning to end
- Did the "tourist" thing in Washington DC twice
- Road tripped all Central America by car with my parents
- Walked Chinatown in New York and Toronto from beginning to end
- Seen every single one and all the pyramids in Mexico and Guatemala
- Sailed, ate, drank and slow danced with a sunset on the Detroit River
- Been to Las Vegas 4 times
- Road tripped California from L.A. out to Kernville, toured the Mojave Desert on a dirt bike, drove up to San Francisco, down Highway 1 to Laguna Beach and back up to Bakersfield to hike part of the Pacific Crest Trail
- I've hiked all of Sedona in Arizona
- Did the Monon Trail in Indianapolis
... and Costa Rica, I've been to almost every single National Park, hiked, camped, walked, backpacked. Still have a lot more to see.
Teach, Learn, Share
