About Me

Ama la vida - Love life. Might sound simple but I don't think there's anything like this Ecuadorian saying that sums me up in a better way. I take things as they come and always try to make the best out of it. Still not sure how to contribute to this crazy world but I feel like being on the road is not the worst way of finding out (;

After having grown up in Munich with parents that love going to new places I started travelling on my own two years ago after finishing high school and even though I've been to amazing places with my family before that was like discovering a completely new world. I guess that was because during all this time I had never realized that travelling is not only about the places you see but mostly about the people you meet. And it's just amazing how much you can learn about life and about yourself if you open up to strangers!

Right now I'm on my summer break from med school and wanted to do something completely different before going back to studying and hospitals in October. So by now I ended up wwoofing at a ranch near Banff which is propably one of the best things I've ever done. As I hope to see some more of Alberta and BC before going back to Germany I'll head to Jasper, Whistler and Vancouver at the end of September and would love to meet up with you guys there! (:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I signed up here when I was living in Spain to join some of the events such as public dancing lessons etc. Afterwards I almost forgot about it until a friend told me some stories about her experiences with "real" couchsurfing.
She was so excited about it that I wanted to give it a try too. I feel like this might be even better than making friends with people at a hostel... Don't know though but I'm curious to see if she was right (:

Interests

I'm into a lot of things but my biggest passion are languages. In my opinion this is the key to almost everything - I mean, with that you get a better understanding of everything, music, food, cultur, lifestyle... and there's so much you can pick up if you only listen to people talking in their mother language!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hm, there's lots of crazy stuff I've done in my life but I feel like the greatest thing was using my spare time as an intern to just be with people waiting for their surgery. Having someone around who sees more than just the patient that needs to be fixed is quite important I think and I hope that whatever doctor I'll become I will never forget that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking and would love to help you out as best as I can. Apart from that I've travelled quite a lot which provides material for endless conversations (if you want! I'm not that kind of person that wouldn't stop talking about themselves). If you are interested I can also teach you some rare words in Bavarian dialect that will impress every local in case you ever want to visit this region or how to defend yourself in Spanish ;)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bolivia, Croatia, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, United Kingdom, United States
