About Me

I live in a comfy antique house in a historic neighborhood on the beautiful Kankakee river, with Frank Lloyd Wright houses and a cool community.

I'm in a sweet spot as a doula and a myofascial therapist. I have 3 awesome adult children plus a few unofficially adopted ones.

I'm an extrovert from a large family, raised in suburban Chicago, influenced by the arts and sciences, social justice, travel, nature and most of all, a variety of people! I have fun with family and friends listening to and playing music, the local art scene, traveling, organic gardening and cooking, paddle boarding, walking/hiking, reading. I'm cultivating more mindfulness and dipping into creative energy to write songs and play music more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Going off the beaten path and getting to know people is my favorite way to travel. Bartering and sharing have always been a part of my life and couchsurfing fits right in. Hospitality is way better than hotels!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a wide variety of music but mostly listen to and play a little Americana, rock, blues, folk music. I host a drum circle at my home! I got completely hooked on the Alone tv show.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Provide homeless persons a place to live on 3 separate occasions. Also, provided shelter for a year to a battered woman and shared my home with several young people struggling to be on their own. These people became a rich part of my life and I believe vice versa.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about native plants, organic gardening, simple guitar, nutritious food prep.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Being a respectful guest, cooking, cleaning up afterwards, stories about my work as a doula, an occupational therapist, and the bodywork I do--myofascial release. Free treatments if there's time!
