Hey I’m Anne 💁🏻‍♀️, a global nomad from Germany 🇩🇪 (that typical tall European girl 🪜)

Some facts about me:
🟢 Born and raised in Germany 🇩🇪 where I also lived for over 30 years. My whole family is there. Extremely grateful for my passport every single day!!!
🟢 I lived in the USA 🇺🇸 and UK 🇬🇧 for some time, now pretty much full time traveling the world (since 2019) but spending quite some time in Dubai 🇦🇪 when I’m not traveling (usually during the winter season).
🟢 I’m a very open minded and social person, but I'm also an introvert. A little bit shy at first, and easily overwhelmed if there are too many people at the same time that I don't know. I'm working on that. 🤗
🟢 I'm always looking for interesting and easy going people to connect with. Maybe finding a travel buddy? 👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏽 👩🏻‍🤝‍👩🏾
🟢 I believe that energies are contagious...it’s important to me to spread positive vibes and to have a good time, as well as surrounding myself with people who vibe similar...we should make the ultimate best out of every situation. ⚡️
🟢 I live by the GOLDEN RULE: "Treat other people like you want to be treated"
🟢 I'm easy going and low maintenance, as well as very clean and somewhat organised. 😅
🟢 I like to network and socialise in moderation, traveling helps me to getting out of my comfort zone 🐢 and interact with people
🟢 the beauty about solo traveling is that I get to do what I want, when I want and how I want, so sometimes I feel like doing absolutely nothing for a day or two or three... 😴
🟢 Not big of a party person, but I love to dance. I don't smoke 🚭 and also don't really drink 🚱 however 🌱🍄🍬 is fine with me...every now and then. I'm the type of person you probably find somewhere on the beach or on a hike, testing my limits rather than in a club 😁
🟢 I'm also a huge culture buff, soaking it all in like a sponge - whatever is fun and interesting to me, I do.
🟢 While traveling is my #1 passion, I also love to walk and wander around, be it through the city, along the beach, or hike on a mountain, there is no day that goes by without me being outside on some point.
🟢 I like learning new things, be it cooking a new dish, or exploring a new skill, I'm curious about the world and all it's wonders
🟢 I love to read, me and my kindle are besties. Nothing beats having a real book in your hands of course, but traveling made me switch to digital. 📚
🟢I prefer music over movies, BUT if I happen to stumble over some good show you might find me binge watching it. My movie knowledge is mainly based on new and old movies they show on the plane 😆
🟢 I never get home sick, but I easily get wanderlust...I know it's weird, but I can't help it. (I love my family to death of course but the urge to travel beats missing them at all times 🫣) maybe it's because daily routine bores me and the unknown of what the next day brings excites me so much.

🟡 I'm a big fan of travel blogs and stories, and I feel like there are not enough really informative and detailed ones out there. So I decided to start writing my own travel blog recently after figuring, "why not?".
I travel soooo much, I might as well share my journey with others, because each of us makes unique experiences and mine might help the next person who is reading it and plans to make a trip. I'm no a pro in writing, but learn by experience. 🙂

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I REALLY love the concept of connecting with people world wide, sharing travel experiences and stories, and learn from each other. It's so enriching and the amount of love I received from total strangers over the years has me all emotional 🥰

Unfortunately (but absolutely necessary) I need to mention...
1️⃣ I do not accept friend requests unless we have met in person ‼️
2️⃣ I do not share a bed or room with a man (with women in the same room is fine). Sleeping in a public room (couch) or private room is my preference. Understand and respect that everybody has different comfort levels...and that is mine.
3️⃣ I don't respond to just "Hey, Hello, Hi...How you doing" messages, please put in the effort as I will do the same.
4️⃣ I don't respond well to flirting or dating intentions as well as AI generated messages - an attempt to do so will result in me blocking you.
5️⃣ I will not share my WhatsApp number with you and also won't contact you on yours unless we agreed on meeting or hosting. So there is no need to send it to me in your first contact message.
6️⃣ Fully verifying your profile goes a long way and the chance that we gonna meet on my travels is much higher. get the ✅ 😉
It also somewhat shows how serious you are about the CS community.
7️⃣ If you have little to no references, chances are I won't meet you one on one. I know we all have to start somewhere and I know how it is to be a newbie in this community and without anyone vouching for you. I’m willing to make exceptions every now and then BUT the request would come from my side.
If you are new to CS it’s more likely that you meet me in a CS group event or group hangout with other CouchSurfers and Hosts, which I like to attend whenever I get the chance 😊

Please be aware "I CURRENTLY DON'T HOST"...I'm living my best digital nomad life and therefore have no place I call my own.
However sometimes, I happen to book a nice spacious vacation home where I like to invite and host other travellers to stay with me. Sharing is caring 😁

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

🔸I gave up my home, left my safe medical profession of 10+ years (head nurse of ICU) and had no plan B and complete uncertainty if this new life is going to work out. But YOLO, right? 😅
🔸Been homeless traveling the world since 2019 (still looking for that once in a life time travel buddy, tho)
🔸I studied sound engineering (music production) and music management and its laws - never pursued this career, but hey, I know how to produce a beat or babysit musicians 😂
🔸I manage looking poor while being rich 😎
🔸I mastered daytrading...yeah it's a skill and finances my life...I only gamble when I play blackjack or poker 🃏
🔸I spoke on a convention in front of over 8000 people...scary af 😳
🔸I write a travel blog, working on my writing skills
🔸 I attended a bilionair's yacht and penthouse parties, Rich people are crazy I'm telling you 🫣
🔸 spent a weekend on a private island...not mine 😂 but it was amazing regardless
🔸 I spent 3 days/nights in a Bedouin camp in Jordan, phone and internet detox, which I really enjoyed
🔸 I attended a silent retreat in Varanasi, India 🤐 disconnecting from external distractions, but being alone with nothing but your own thoughts for several days is kinda scary I'm not gonna lie.

I’m a solo traveler pretty much most of the time, which can be challenging every now and then but I enjoy it immensely as it gives me a lot of freedom and I can do whatever I want whenever I want without having to confirm with someone else first… it also makes me a stronger person and helps me working on myself, to become better and being more social…sometimes 😊
Nevertheless I enjoy the company of others and even consider short trips together if there is a good vibe. Anyone down for a road trip? 🚐 🛣 I don't have a drivers license but I'll take care of everything else 😁
