About Me

**Updated 19th April 2019**

Hi everyone!

I'm Anne-Lise, a 21-year-old young woman travelling in southeast Asia for three months now.

I have decided to take a gap year after graduating in History of art in June 2018, and what a gap it is!
After jumping from box to box during my entire life, I wanted to jump out of this unfomcortable and oppressive system, study and work off the beaten track about a more open-minded, sustainable, responsible way of living on earth, through permaculture, caring for all shapes of life, harmony with nature, or meditation.

ABOUT ME

I am of a generation that suffers from the mistakes of our parents and grandparents. I don't want these mistakes to go on and to have irreversible consequences. I love the diversity on this planet, diversity of fauna and flora, of spirits and people, of colours and flavours. I don't want this beautiful diversity to disappear, because it would mean the end of life on earth. Therefore, I am willing to contribute in the reparation of our mistakes.

WHY I AM ON TRAVEL

This long-term trip aims to learn and deepen my knowledge about how to change my way of life by meeting, learning and get inspired by people, and to share a moment of life with them.
It also aims to learn and deepen my knowledge about myself, who I am as a person, as a woman, as a citizen sharing a planet with other live beings.

I am conscious that traveling isn't something that should be taken for granted, and that I am a lucky person. Therefore I'm living it not only as an exploration of the outside world, but also as an exploration and improvement of my inner self.
Everyday there is a learning to find, that guides me to become a better person, to be more respectful and considerate towards my neighbors on Earth. This learning is to be found in the present moment, so I'm willing to enjoy this very moment, and to share it with other people.
I feel like we all are unique and part of a whole. We all bring something to the world, and this comes through connecting to others, so... let's get plugged! :-D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Again, "sharing is caring", so let's share a moment, a drink, a home or a hike, let's live something together :-)

Travelling means nothing to me if I don't go and meet the people who live in the place I'm discovering.
While on travel, I want to get to know them, and am willing to discover a place the way they like it :-)
This goes with attending Couchsurfing events, meeting Couchsurfing members, or asking for Couchsurfers' hospitality.

Interests

As I believe every body deserves to live its own life, I have decided not to eat animals anymore. I would therefore be happy to cook and share vegan food with you, and talk about the beauty of life ;-)

Teach, Learn, Share

Sharing is caring" is a phrase I cherish.
As a traveller, I cannot share a home with you for now, but consider I will definitely turn on the "Be a host" button when I settle down somewhere, as it is natural to share to others what we receive ourselves.
Still, I am honoured and happy to share with you the joy I feel when connecting with people, my love for cooking and discovering new flavours, and my desire to be part of a global change to make the world more caring and respectful of others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Long and passionate conversations about art (in its largest definition), life, philosophy, in fact any subject we want to share !

So many things we can share actually !
