No, i just feel like when you are in a hotel, you better know some local people to tell you what to do in town, and where... if you don't find this person you are kind of lost. So i would like to meet a host who could help me to understand his/her culture and have good places in town to recommend us/me.

Go to shanghai with no visa. Of course arrived in China airport they sent me straight back to Taiwan, where i lived at the time.
