About Me

Hello! I'm originally from a cozy town in Michigan, that state shaped like a mitten surrounded by stunning lakes. Growing up, my family instilled in me a love for the great outdoors through camping trips across the national parks of the USA and Canada. Although I now find myself in the vibrant city of Chicago, my heart still yearns for nature and exploration.

I work as a private violin teacher, welcoming students of all ages into the world of music. Alongside teaching, I find immense joy in performing with orchestras, ensembles, and even rock bands. Music isn't just a profession for me; it's a way of life. I cherish every opportunity to share music with others and often collect playlists from the people I meet along my musical journey. I also enjoy reading, weight lifting, and am an avid knitter! You'll often find me knitting needles deep in yarn and eagerly discussing my most recent read (usually romance, sci-fi, or classics) with anyone who'll listen.

I'm passionate about experiencing cultural events and meeting new people from all walks of life. While I haven't traveled extensively yet, I'm eager to change that and embark on new adventures. I believe in the magic of connecting with locals and learning firsthand about different cultures. Whether it's hiking in the wilderness or exploring bustling cities, I'm excited to broaden my horizons and create memorable experiences. Looking forward to sharing stories and discovering new places with you!

Music, Movies, and Books

Where to start! I obviously love classical music but to be honest it isnt what I listen to since I spend enough time playing it. I mostly enjoy pop, indie, folk, and old soul/R&B. My most listened to artists of 2024 so far have undoubtedly been female pop artists, Chappel Roan, Kim Petras, Taylor Swift, Charli XCX.

When I see movies I almost always avoid horror, thrillers, and suspenseful movies but I will sometimes watch one after reading about it. My favorite movie of all time is the 2006 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, the score is phenomenal!

The last books I read that I enjoyed in each of my favorite genres are… Romance, The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston; Historical Romance, Say Yes to the Marquess by Tessa Dare; Sci-fi, A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers; Classic Novel, I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith; Contemporary Fiction, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman.

Teach, Learn, Share

Violin of course! And if you want to learn to knit I’m a pro at that as well!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm an enthusiastic person who loves to share what I know, not just about music but about everything that interests me. Beyond music, my role as a teacher has kept me connected to a sense of childish joy and continuous learning. Whether it's discussing the intricacies of music theory, exchanging book recommendations, or sharing my latest knitting project—a cobalt blue cardigan—I'm always excited to engage in meaningful conversations and create memorable experiences together. Let's explore new horizons and enjoy the journey!
